I still believe 2 places away from A to it's right will be A _ B. , as it does not mention skipping anything. 3 is two places away from 1 to its right.

Choice (a) with “weird” as an option can be removed and similarly choice (d) with “gloomy”. They are both using words that are not first-priority as they are somewhat informal.
