Speed of escalator be u..(both elevators are moving at the same speed)
Number of steps in escalator = 30 + (30/2)*u = 20 + (20/1)*u
=> u = 2 steps/sec
Total steps = 60
In case of Ram and Tarun, relative speed = 6 steps/sec
So, they meet at 60/6 = 10 secs
=> Tarun moved = 4*10 = 40 steps..

Mere bhi aa rahe the fir angadbir ne bataya. Bwb aur wbw se right ans hai. Wwb se jab black choose karne jate hai to multiple cases hote hai, kuch white squares ke selection ke liye 18 black squares bachte hai, kuch ke liye 16. To wo consider karke calculate karna hoga phir. Is liye pehle black lena best hai.
