hi,
I am replying ur queries. EMPI is a very bad institute for persuing MBA program. The placement are very poor. Only insurance and some financial companies visit its campus. It is a very bad option for MBA. But if u want to waste ur time and money, then u r most welcome.
If u have some other queries abt this institute , feel free to post them. I wil always help u.

There are two people whom I know very well and who are passouts of EMPI. One a 2007 passout and another a 2005 passout and I have got very impressive feedbacks from them about EMPI. Infact they were very well placed and been very happy and satisfied with the institution. I think at the end of the day placements depend on one's own capabilities.

hi there,
taking in consideration the present economic condition, placement is bleak even in IIMs.. but what I as a present student of empi feel is that the situation is improving considerably, most of us have been placed in decent companies for our summer internships.. our super seniors like the batch of 2008 pass outs, were all placed with decent packages in reputed companies... what actually happened resulting this years average placement results is the withdrawal of several financial institutions and some major banks from the placement processes due to the financial meltdown.
I guess your basic query was about wether you should come to empi or not.i guess the answer lies in the post prior to mine, if you have ability and qualification , dont be afraid , coz there's absolutely no need to be afraid.. and as the post says, if you dont have ability even IIMs wont be able to spoon feed jobs to you.

My advice whatever you do , do think a lot and do a survey from people who actually are from the institute .. and not from people whose ideas are biased , either way.. all the very best.

And lastly if you need any other queries to be answered, do shoot them.. I might be bit late (coz our exams are going on) but surely you would get an answer.

I got call letters from a couple of institutions in Delhi including Asia Pacific, JIIMS, BIMTECH, IILM and EMPI. Infact my interview in EMPI was last and I was very certain that I would make in any of the other three. But still I went for the interview which was on 6th of April and I must admit that now I want to get admitted in EMPI itself. We had a very good interactive session and their assessments took almost the entire day. I felt the institute was thorough and even different in its selection approach. I hope I am able to make through. So in my opinion if u have a call from EMPI go and check it out for yourself.

There Is a Placement Cell in EMPI.... The Placement Is Handled By Students As done in most of the IIMs.....

Highest package is-6.5 lakh p.a
Average-3.5 lakh p.a
Lowest-2.5 lakh p.a

EMPI has record of 100% placement since last 15 years.......so don't worry

DOES AN MBA MATTER

Does MBA matter. Does it make any difference. Does it raise any expectations.

It depends. It depends upon what is MBA to you; what you make of it; what you bring to it and what you take from it.

Industry is the prime customer and user of MBAs. Naturally Industry certainly has certain expectations from MBA. It is more than just the lectures that you hear, lessons that you learn, books that you read or the cases that you solve.

Domain knowledge, meaning the good understanding of the subjects that you study like marketing finance operations etc. is of course a must . It is the starting point. If you do not possess good domain knowledge you are not there at all even at the starting line of the race. Assuming that you have acquired it the industry looks for something more, something beyond just that.

As an MBA you are expected to have an analytical mind. To look at a maze of things and data and be able to discern what matters most. To be able to make out the causes and their effects. To identify the core from the details. Sooner or later an MBA should be able to locate the problem areas, bottlenecks, obstructions to any operation and explore for feasible solutions.

In this operation an MBA is also expected to think strategically. To look at several directions and features, find the connections to see any issue deeply and in totality in holistic form as also the individual strands and see how these can be coordinated for optimal outcome. In other words to comprehend the big picture as well as to read the small print. In short to become a problem solver. Operating in this manner the MBA is also expected to wear sooner than later the leadership hat.

Leadership does not mean giving orders and then putting your feet up. Rather, volunteering to take up responsibility and carrying it out effectively. This means understanding what needs to be done identifying the steps towards realizing them, managing peer group, motivating subordinates, delegating tasks and effectively monitoring and networking for effective coordination, resolving conflicts to ensure cohesion of operations.

In all these matters the most precious skill that the MBA brings forth is the ability for effective communication supported by all other soft skills. Ability to listen, ability to transfer ideas, articulate his thoughts and decisions is of atmost importance.

What is important is not just good intentions or decisions but task completion. If any project is undertaken an MBA is expected to see it through in full and complete in all respects. Further should be prepared to own up the task responsibility as well as the consequences.

Situations constantly keep changing. In business nothing stands still or is constant. Change is the all pervading thing. That being the case MBA is also needs to be adaptive. He should be able to foresee changes coming and adapt himself to meet it and sustain.

To be a holistic manager the MBA has to have substantial interpersonal skills. This comes out in so many forms. Understanding people, bringing people together, communicating ideas, motivating them, enthusing willing cooperation to perform, ensure group cohesion by anticipating conflicts and resolving them, managing effectively the pushes and pulls of his superiors, subordinates, peers and other stakeholders adroitly.

Have you heard the term BOM. A Bill of Materials roughly means a comprehensive list of all the materials and components required to make a complete product.

Industry Visit. At Yakult Danone India, Food Park, Rai, Sonepat, Haryana. On February 11, 2016. As a student of a Management college, industry visits are always exciting and enriching. The opportunity was judiciously utilized by my batch mates of (2015-2017). The day rolled out really quick and we all representing EMPI Business School, in a well-groomed attire and attitude forwarded towards our first industry visit to Yakult Danone India. It was around a 2 hours journey from our college. But as soon as we reached the Plant the whole atmosphere was beaming with enthusiasm and Selfies. We are being greeted by the Plant Manager Abhishek and his co-member Soojit. We are being updated about some basic digital hygiene and the functional use of cameras and video recording. Next we are being given a welcome drink and are briefed about the Safety feature of the plant and Assembly area. The whole program started with a short presentation, where we are being updated about healthy living, prevention related to food related ailments, lifestyle modification and with all this context how Yakult, being a functional food helps our body to maintain its proper metabolism. Next a brief on the product and some good knowledge was provided on probiotic and Lactobacillus Casei strain Shirota and their application on human body and benefits out of it. A good question answer session was carried out to break the ice and start a very interactive and positive communication between the two parties. After this we are being introduced to the whole manufacturing system, and are guided by Abhishek to the first segment of the production process, which started from the Germination Chamber or the Seed room, where the strains coming from Japan in powdered form are being germinated in controlled temperature and pressure. He further updated that the whole plant is under controlled humidity and breathable air. Next process includes the fermentation chamber and followed by Quality Control, where every batch of fermentation is being critically monitored along with the final product that is being in the verge of liquefaction. Followed by this is the packaging area where fresh bottles are being made by injection molds and are filled with final product, sealed and packed for retail use or institutional use, as per demand basis. The whole plant is being maintained by only 8 people which includes all the process of manufacturing and PR activities. At present the plant is working on 99% automation with a 30% capacity utilization. In between we were having some critical communication with him on the whole system of the plant and the operation of the machines. After the whole tour we had a group photo and warm wishes along with a strong handshake to end our tour. All in all it was a very warm experience, as their hospitality was amazing and we all had a great memory to cherish upon in the future.
