karthik
11 hrs? and im assuming 4 times as many means 4* 50 or did i read it wrong?
The answer is 26 minutes. This is a problem from Shakuntala Devi . Answer is given in the book but solution is not given.
initial answer...
94 minutes.
EDIT LATER: the wording is arcane so the confusion is imminent (atleast to fools like me)
180 - 50 - x = 4x
26 = x;
Then its 26 minutesl

The answer given in Shakuntala Devi book is 26 minutes

Hey Ramyadass
The diameter of the table is either 10 or 58 units. If it is the correct answer, please post next problem.
We can first find out the inclination of the line joining the point and the corner with any of the walls and then we can find the radius easily.
I got the wrong approach.
The answer will be 58 inches and 10 inches will be rejected.
can u pls explain me how did u get the 58 inches as ans? iam poor in geometry
few more question:
1.an artist wanted to paint a picture on canvas which would allow for a margin of 4 inches on top n bottom n 2 inches on each side .he wanted the picture itself to occupy 72 square inches.
wht would be the smallest dimensions , the canvas he is going to obtain , shud posses?
ans:canvas is 10 inches in width n 20 inches in height
2. is there any shortcut method to do this?

See the solution with figure----
Fifty minutes ago if it was four times as many minutespast three o'clock, how many minutes is it to six o'clock?
OK. Let there be x minutes left for 6'o'clock. Between 3 and 6, we have 180 minutes. So we can also say, that the time is now, 180-x minutes from 3.
Now the question says, 50 minutes ago from (180-x) ..........(180-x-50)
it was four times as many minutes past 3 ...........(4x)
180-x-50 = 4x
x = 26 minutes 😃

Use the test of divisibility by 11.
The answer is 987645120....just check..n let me kno.

hey rajsher,
thx a lot
and the answer for the divisiblity by 11 (largest no is)987652413
- All but one person scores in the group are squares of integers
-One person's score is equal to the sum of two other persons in the group.
- None got zero marks.
- some B,D,E marks are cubes of integers.
- Some D multiplied by an odd number is an odd number.
- the differance between the scores of D and F is equal to the score of one person in the group.
question given for the above case are :
i) Who got the highest score?
ii)Who got the least score out of the following three??
iii)Whose score is equal to the sum of scores of two persons in the group.
guess many answers r possible
i) If they all meet at a point at the same time, find how much distance is travelled by C if the X and Y travel with the same speed.
ii) If X and Y travel at speeds in the ratio 2:1, and if they all meet at the same time, find after how many seconds, will they meet?
iii) similar question to above....
Some questions are given like, they give two sentences and you have to pick up the third sentence from the multiple choice, which relates to the two sentences....
iam just getting the nswer for the first one as 40 m , is it correct?
X,Y are standing at one end of the diameter of a circle with diameter 140m. C is standing at the other end.All of them start at the same time. X moves along the diameter and Y and C moves to meet each other along the circular path.

how do y and c move, i mean do they move in the same direction or opposite direction
iam not very sure.
since they r moving to meet each other.
y n c shud move in oppsite direction ,tht is towards each other
