i don't have the oa now(will post tomorrow) and 3 looks the most plausible option but sice retention rate definition is not given one can't be sure of the option 3 ..??

what has should be replaced by what has got .. .for me in A..and your point also seems apt but D not sure someone gave a point that climate phenomenon describe occur naturally seems so should be in present tense...?
