THANK U ankmbaa for the new thread on success stories. Let me share mine here with the hope that someone wil get motivated when they feel its all over..
I started giving PO exams at the age of 29 years and 4 months. Being from General category I hardly had 10 months for giving exams (the age limit being 30 yrs). I had other constraints like taking care of my family (husband and kid) and all other household chores. Being a nuclear family and away from native place no one was there to help. So I cudn't give undivided attention to my exam preparations. I could hardly study for 1 or 2 hours a day that too with intermittent breaks. I have never done a practice set as I had no time for that. After a series of rejections I started feeling very low and guilty of wasting my husband's hard earned money on exams. I got rejected even in those where I thought I had done fairly well. I cudn't guess where I stand in the huge crowd of PO aspirants. But still I didnt wanna give up until I become ineligible to give exams due to age limit. So I gave almost every PO exam till DENA Bk beyond which I was ineligible. And started waiting for results.
I just cudn't believe my eyes wen I saw my name in Bank of India written results. Finally I have broken the chain of failures.Thank God.. and therafter there was no looking back.Cleared Bk of MAharshtra, Union BAnk, Indian BAnk,KArnataka BAnk, UCO, PSB AO and PO... And all got converted too (in whichever final lists has been declared).. My joy know no bounds now..
So I wud like to tell u all that stick to ur goals with no second thought, put in ur best efforts coz u r not gonna do the same after a few years.. be true to ur conscience as far as preparation is concerned.. visualize ur dreams wenever u feel low, recharge urselves and believe in urselves and off course God.. U will be there already. THERE IS ALWAYS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. U wil be proud of urselves wen u look back.
If I cud win against all the odds.. everyone here will also win.. either today or the next day..

Let me tell u my story,
My interview date was unforgettable as it was on INDIA - PAK world cup semi final day (30 march)
reporting time was 10:30 am
Venue - sector 17 bank square Chandigarh
I reached the center at 10:00 am but i saw a lot no. of candidates were waiting ahead of me, so i did the same thing , waited for 1 hour in the bank
Finally at 11:00 am one of the uncle asked my batch members to move upstairs for the document verification ...
after completing document verification we went to second floor at 12:00 pm where interview was going on
then we waited upstairs for our interview , i was eighth in my group.
At 2 pm i was waiting outside interview room as i was the next person to go for the interview but then all of sudden one of the "Uncle " came and told me its lunch time now , u have to wait for some more time as the panelist have to go for lunch.
Then panelist moved to first floor in the conference room,there was a big LCD there connected with TATA SKY and of course it was live telecast from Mohali INDIA - PAK match, there were around 25 persons(bank staff) sitting there, I was waiting outside the conference room just to see who won the toss and who is batting first(after all it was cricket),just to have a glimpse.:lookround: .but all of sudden one of the "Uncle"(CHAI Wale Bhaiya) asked me to get inside and watch the match and finally i went inside along with 2 more candidates and sat there, panelist saw us watching the match.
Finally I enjoyed Veeru's shots in the conference room on the giant screen.
At 3 :00 pm they finished their lunch and came upstairs, i also came along with them as i was the first person to be interviewed after lunch.....
I went in the interview room...
there were 3 panelists, P1,P2,P3.
First Question
P1-- What is the match score now,,
Me - Told them in Detail about india's score, veeru's score sachin's score , balls etc.
P1- What do u think who will win the match .
Me - Sir, it is a game of cricket , nobody can tell who will win the match but yes if we go by the statistics India has a better chance. Blah BLAh , told some facts and all.
P1- Tell us something about U in short.
ME - Told
P1- so u are from Indore , tell me some thing about Indore and also how did u come to Chandigarh from Indore..(as i am working in Chandigarh for the past 3 yrs)
Me - Explained.
P1- Have u heard of MHOW. what it is famous for and what is the full form of it.
Me - Told abt what MHOW(a place near Indore) is famous for but could not tell the full form of it.
P1 explained me the whole geography of MP and its railway route after asking me how do u go to ur home town.
P1 - Why do u want to join Bank.
Me - Told
P2 - What is repo rate, reverse repo rate, bank rate..
Me - Told whatever I knw
P1 again - What are the challenges that Public sector banks are facing.
Me - Told
thats all from question round, after these they told me that they want to open there branches in semi urban and rural areas and want people who can work in rural areas as well , they asked me - are u ready to work in rural areas, will u be able to survive there.
I answered , yes i would like to work in rural areas and blah blah blah
Finally when i stood up they asked me - do u knw that u cannot leave the bank before 3 yrs otherwise u have to pay 2 lacs rs and so
I told them , yes i am very much aware of these and..........
Finally my interview ended for them but not for me.(PICTURE ABHI BAKI HAI DOSTON)
After coming back from interview room to downstairs i again met to CHAI WALE Bhaiya, he tole me "areyy aap kaha jaa rahe ho pura match dekh kar jana,

So i sat with the bank staff again and saw the complete Indian inning on the LCD in the bank during which there were times when samosas came for 2 times, sweets (MALAI BARFI)came for 1 time, coffee came one time and at last cold drinks, This all came for the bank staff and for me 
also as i was the only candidate sitting there watching match with them (kuch PO's se achhi dosti ho gayi thi yaar)
Enjoyed the interview and also the match , memorable day for me......

I got selected in Central bank of India... and now i m posted in Rural branch in HP.... it depends which Bank u r joining. Banks like CBI have maximum branches in Rural areas so u r likely to be posted in rural....if u opt for that.... and almost all banks put a bond to all po to serve rural for 2-3 years for promotion....
