Aaj IBPS hai mera, wo bhi doosre city me. SBI ke chakkar me socha tha jana nahi hoga. Admit card bhi nahi nikaala abhi tak. Still hoping ghar se nikalte nikalte bhi result aa jaye.

Why SSC CGL is better than SBI PO? (I am not saying it's better, I saw one poll which mentioned like that) so pls state ur reasons. And if you think SBI po is better, state those reasons as well.

Why SBI PO is better than SSC CGL.. If you say you are an officer in "State Bank", everybody right from a begger upto Prime Minister, everybody will understand and get a sense of respect. But what if you say you are an Assistant section officer in ministry of external affairs? Or an auditor in Controller general of defense accounts? Only learned people and people actually related with such jobs will understand. Rest all will generalize it as a "Central govt job"... People always tend to give you more respect if you are working close to their lives.

I will tell you what... Nowadays thousands are joining banks.. but none of them are becoming bankers.. they dont have that "Banker" thing in them.. they opted banking just because its a secure and easiest available public sector job. A person who is allergic to talking to people, who avoids customers have no future in banks... he must just survive and earn his bread.. but growth and all.. forget.. for it, you need to be a darling of people.. Two things will push you up the ladder in a bank.. 1)Knowledge 2)Social skills

PS: i have 4 family members working in various departments through SSC CGL so my knowledge is not limited to banking. I weight the pros and cons in respect to salary, posting, future growth, social reputation and family stability.
