Posting essay, suggestions are welcomed in a polite way in English only (since i can't understand hindi in enlish text) CONSOLIDATION OF BANKS
Our Government raked up the issue of consolidation of banks. Firstly, Finance minister said "we will call for the consolidation of banks in coming days". Even in the past government it raised the issue of merger of banks but it waited for the proposal from bank side.
Even the banks felt the same to take the action from the government's side. Later in the second Gyan sangam meeting, the major stake holder Government of India took the initiative of consolidation and Finance minister stated that we are intended to consolidate i.e bail out the PSBs from losses.
The merits of consolidation can be following
· The merged entity will have more leg room for capital raising
· It can have more effective control in capital efficiency
· When significant number of banks merged, it will increase the decision power of entity
· In the case of NPAs, the debt recovery could be more effective as small banks suffer more to recover than a single branded bank
· In the eve of financial crisis, Government can borrow huge capital from a single big bank than from smaller banks there by reducing the capital crisis for infra projects
The key for the consolidation is cost rationalization this would come in picture by cutting the different branches in same location to avoid the unnecessary competition. If the merger of banks happens on geography basis that is banks in north India merging with those of south India there by expanding business vastly
One of the major concerns of merger is Employee issues. Most of the employees are fearing that they lose identity if merger happens. Another issue is employees from different banks are having different slabs in the payments of salaries and allowances. Proper care should be taken to unite these slabs under common umbrella.
SBI is the only bank in India listed in the top 100 companies list if it merges with its associates we can see a big bank with huge assets and advances, branches and number of employees there by raising its global value in the world.

Special drawing rights (ISO 4217 currency code XDR,[1] also abbreviated SDR) are supplementary foreign exchange reserve assets defined and maintained by theInternational Monetary Fund (IMF). The XDR is the unit of account for the IMF, and is not a currency per se.[2] XDRs instead represent a claim to currency held by IMF member countries for which they may be exchanged.[3] The XDR was created in 1969 to supplement a shortfall of preferred foreign exchange reserve assets, namely gold and the U.S. dollar.[3]
XDRs are allocated to countries by the IMF.[3] Private parties do not hold or use them.[4] The amount of XDRs in existence was around XDR 21.4 billion in August 2009. During the global financial crisis of 2009, an additional XDR 182.6 billion were allocated to "provide liquidity to the global economic system and supplement member countries' official reserves". By October 2014, the amount of XDRs in existence was XDR 204 billion.[5]
The value of the XDR is based on a basket of key international currencies reviewed by IMF every five years.[3] The weights assigned to each currency in the XDR basket are adjusted to take into account their current prominence in terms of international trade and national foreign exchange reserves.[3] In the review conducted in November 2015, the IMF decided that the Renminbi (Chinese Yuan) would be added to the basket effective October 1, 2016.[6] From that date, the XDR basket has consisted of the following five currencies: U.S. dollar 41.73%, Euro 30.93%, Chinese yuan 10.92%, Japanese yen 8.33%, British pound 8.09%.[

NPA
According to a recent RBI report the gross Non Performing Asset of India's Public Sector Bank is just under 4 Lakh Crores. Punjab National Bank at the end of the last financial year reported their and Public Sector Bank's worst loss in history. This was majorly contributed by NPA. This menace of NPA is burdening our banking system which in turn is proving to be detrimental to India's growth.
A loan becomes NPA if it is not serviced for more than 3 months. The major reason behind the rise of NPA is the aggressive lending of the banks during boom period without proper financial and background check. After the financial crisis of 2008 many firms are yet to recover and their profits dwindled. This resulted in them defaulting on their loans. Other factors are delay in environmental clearance , volatility of raw material , cancellation of projects after investing and willful defaulting all contributed to the sudden increase in NPA.
RBI and Government have taken several steps to solve this issue. Mission Indradhanush was introduced to bring clarity to the banking system and make them more professional. Joint Lenders Forum was established. ARC or Asset Reconstruction Company was launched to take away the bad loans from bank. CDR was also tool which was taken up. SDR or Strategic Debt Restucturing was introduced where banks became part owner of the company. The other measures which the banks should take up is proper credit management system. They should also identify NPAs well in advance and try to prevent it from becoming bad loans.
This burden should be taken away from banks and let them work freely. India is still a developing country and for our GDP to grow this issue should be thoroughly looked after.
There is any shortcut for solving such type of question .Are we have to solve all step
