SBI PO 2014 Preparation & Discussion Thread

WTF

GA-not many current affairs qs - whatever asked mostly not from bank capsule, lot of marketing, banking awareness & bank marketing qs - these qs are not like simple marketing qs which they asked in  previous papers more of reasoning kind. computers- options confuse even a computer engineer.

Anybody still believing in ca & ba 25 q, marketing 10-13 q and computers 10-13 q forget it

English- Seriously do not go for the RCs not only RC takes time but the options for RC qs too consume a lot of time just answer synonyms n antonyms qs of RC

Reasoning - 1 linear arrangement wid 2 parameters facing north  n south, 1 circular arrangement again 2 parameters 8 elements a,b,c..... n birth months..... - 2 words for these 2 qs time consuming. rest of the qs are very easy specially syllogisms.

DI- Time Consuming- one personal advice don't try to solve one complete data set qs.... though time consuming navigate n pick the easy ones.

Descriptive- cakewalk

At last SBI neither followed previous years trend nor last week trend (from past week review on pagalguy). SBI made an experiment and output I paid the prize. SBI made me cry but earned my respect. Bye Bye SBI PO...

Finally It's Over....

My attempts:

English: 42

GA: 39

Reasoning: 40

DI: 21 ( 100% Accuracy)

Total Attempt: 142

Review: Marketing, Banking, DI:  Tough

English: Moderate

Reasoning: Easy but little lengthy

That's it. Wish you all the best

First online exam of my life.

Attempted 45 questions of English, 35 of Reasoning, 5 questions of GA and did'nt touched DI section.

Need some serious help with my speed ; (

  • Neither i or ii
  • Either I or II
  • If only II is implicit
  • If only I is implicit.

Terrorized by those DIs........

Started off with EL..honestly found it a notch higher than the last year's paper. Attempted 44.

Then moved on to GA. It was easy, attempted 48 there.

Reasoning was easy too. Standard questions-cause effect, syllogism, i/p o/p question-set was too easy, 1 seating arrangement question looked lengthy, left it. Another puzzle looked enticing but there was no time. Attempted 38 here.

Then came DI...........honestly not only the calculations puys it was difficult to accumulate the data and the options were very close...managed only 16 here!!

What are tricks of these type of question .It consumes time .should it be better to skip it ? Is any trick with someone for particular this type of question ?

How many did people attempt today ?afternoon slot?is 116 with about 3-4.guesses a decent attempt !could only attempt 16 in di which was v time consuming! Also what was last year's cutoff for General?
