@deepali.patna have you recieved the offer letter ?
one of my frnd in CIL told me so........
@deepali.patna You see b.p. in CIL is 24900 while in SAIL is 20600, so i'm just wondering that, how could we get 40k in taining and 55k after 1 yr. I think this figure is being exaggerated.

Hello guys I am currently in 3rd year 2nd sem in IIT bombay, I want to join indian engineering services, i also have an option of doing M.tech from iitb with just 1 more year extension i.e. B.tech+ m.tech in 5 yrs. I just want to know whether it will be beneficial for me to get a pg degree in promotion point of view in ies, or i should just continue with my B.tech?
@harsh430 No harsh , there is no such benefit of a M.Tech. degree in promotions during your career in Engg. Services. All promotions are time bounded or performance related.
@pkbaba
@deepali.patna said:we will get around 40k during traing aftr deducting 5k... nd aftr an yr, 55k... cool naaaaa!!!
35000 thats all... in hand
@harsh430 and all
i am also in 3rd sem M Tech, iit bombay....
as per info from sail MT(T), who joined last year...
we will get something around 37k in hand and in PSUs (cannot say about ies) there is no promotion based on M Tech degree so i am leaving my course and joining on scheduled date as joining date is the only key for promotion in public sector...

@all
MT's get a salary of around 34-35K during training and around 40k( not a much change) after completing the training.
You have other decent benefits in SAIL like accomodation, medical facilities.
guys i have mentioned my percentage as 66.01 where as it is only 65.14.. will this b a problem?
@akumars003 don't leave your course midway. you could get into a lot of bigcompanies on the basis of your masters degree . SAIL is just one of the thousands of companies out there. :)
@pkbaba thnx dear.... i mentioned that my source of info is this forum post only.. i dnt have any other contct anywhr regardng dis.... so what u provided is really a gud piece of info... mere liye sab sahi hai... SAIL is more imp..salary is secndry....
@strugler_6018 dude how cum it wsnt detected during the interview ??? documents were verified and percentage ws recalculated. so any descrepencies were removed!!!
if dat is the case then dey myt raise some questions frm dere side.. althou u r qulifyng the minimum creteria but still. hope for the best....
@akumars003 i am in 2nd sem m.tech ..in iit roorkee. can i ask extension from sail for 6 to 8 months. any idea plzz share ?
You can ask for an extension for 6 months.
I am working with SAIL and have my friends who were doing m-tech and still are continuing with their M-tech as for them only thesis submission was left. So it depends totally on you what you want to do.
