@User.000 how can u say by just looking at the profile pic???i m not in any aviation industry. I joined a software company few months back and trying to get entered into a public sector. I have much interest in aeronautics that's why used that pic as my profile. I just heard that God is with us through thick and thin. Let's see what Hehas decided for me..
Actually I was guessing. You belong to production engineering (you mentioned somewhere else in this forum) which is somewhat similar to Manufacturing industry (I hope); you are working in IT industry. That will be like working in UN - CORE area. That is innovative thing, because that helps you think out of box. That also gives a new dimension to your abilities. Now, you not only have manufacturing knowledge BUT also mastered basics of IT industry. That will benefit you in the long run.

@User.000 u say even if SAIL rejects you, you are safe... I need this job bro.. otherwise i will be in danger zone and got to work much harder to get it.and tell me 1 thing U r an mba and still looking for public sector job????
OK. Hope you get into SAIL. That was just an assumption. Being an MBA has nothing to do with PSU job. Private sector is dying worldwide and it is obvious. Several MNCs fired >32000 engineers and ~ 4000 Managers. Forget about Micro Small Medium Enterprises. I asked many consultants and surprisingly all ordered to put GOVT / PSU on a higher priority than private sector.

haha bhai user k logic se to ye b conclude kia ja sakta h ki user khud jurasic era ka prrani h, coz usne khud dianasr ki pic lagai h profile pic me..lol...
Sir, you raised a logical point. That's what I thought.
HAHAHA

Sir, See, it all depends on when are you joining if opted for AAI. If AAI joining date is before SAIL result, run to AAI.

Secondly, you took Electrical. SAIL is strictly manufacturing industry. Electrical will be bored. AAI again seems better because at least they have some work for electrical.

Salary for SAIL - INR 7,00,000/- and 5,00,000/- for AAI. SAIL posting at remote areas (mostly) and mainly at hostels => 100% savings. For AAI, nothing like this happens and hence amount of savings reduces by 50%. => Net savings
= 7,00,000/- SAIL
= 2,50,000/- AAI
I ignored deduction of INR 5,000 per month because that will be paid back after so called probation period is completed. Now, SAIL is ranked up.

So, you decide after rationally thinking which option is feasible.

hi friends..

i am also eagerly waiting 4 d sail result..

but mean tym i got 1 good news..

i got selecterd in RRB Sr. SECTION ENGINEER..

i want opinion frm u all ..could you suggest..

if m got selected in SAIL also...which one to join..

either

SAIL or RRB Sr. SECTION ENGINEER.

ďťż ????

@hi_guys Sir, Hi.

RRB = Railway Recruitment Board.
SAIL = Steel Authority of India Ltd

Name says it all, who is better. RRB has lesser pay but fully discounted Railway tickets. A lot depends on your engg branch. HAHAHA
@User.000 thanx for replying.. my joining date for aai will be given after two weeks..but dude are u 100% sure that sail is not going to deduct any money for the salary.. don't u thing its too optimistic..and common bro 2.5 lac reduction from aai??..but my question was not abt the money,was abt pressure and working environment difference between the two companies??because that is the main factor which affect my decision..may be someone working in sail can help me with that.
@shildhir dude it was approx one month..

@User.000 thanks...

bro i don't want to be in a software company.. I got this job from d college placement and not liking work culture over here...

could u plz provide me the details of companies where i can apply ???

(as i m from production engg I applied for gail,ntpc,nalco,bhel only through gate..)

I need the list of core companies (pvt or public sector)...

@tiredengineer - I did take SAIL reduction into consideration. Read it once again.

0) Salary is an important factor in deciding job.
1) SAIL will pay back you 5,000/- after probation period not now.
2) AAI won't reduce money but think of savings. The formula is simple:

Savings = Salary - Cost

Cost = distraction cost + travelling cost + basic cost

In SAIL, since you are posted in remote areas => distraction cost = 0.
Hostel = > travelling cost = 0
So, costs are just basic costs which is minimal for single person.

=> ~ 100% savings

For AAI, you may get distracted due to urban area; and travelling will be high => 50% savings.

Regarding --- was abt pressure and working environment difference between the two companies??because that is the main factor which affect my decision..may be someone working in sail can help me with that.

That is also covered.

Secondly, you took Electrical. SAIL is strictly manufacturing industry. Electrical will be bored. AAI again seems better because at least they have some work for electrical.

I dont know what particularly SAIL has culture. I have an idea of manufacturing industry in general and know how they treat non - manufacturing guys / gals. May be SAIL is an exception to the hypothesis. @slendereyes Sir and @ranjeetanjana Sir may direct and guide you in this matter. Enjoy!
@hi_guys congrats !!!!!
@is4 yah dude it will be enough but you hv to keep yourself updated with current affairs.just read the damn newspaper...but my personal advise is dnt put to much affort in non tech area..your main focus should be just to clear the individual cut-off of each section.. English and reasoning will be simple, read aptitude just one week before the exam.but the main factor which decide your selection will be technical part make sure you will able to attempt at least 70%-80%in that part..and try not to think about negative marks(not talking abt random guesses)..good luck and study hard
@kplight Sir, 2 assumptions

0 --- Production = Manufacturing
1 --- Location = Mumbai (I dont know your hometown)

Source: http://www.fundoodata.com/companies-in/mumbai-navi-mumbai-l5

Contains phone number too. So, you can enjoy!

@User.000 chal dude thanx .waise i am from Delhi so "urban area distraction " is not a problem for me. cheers
@User.000 my hometown = dhanbad (jharkhand)
@kplight Sir, click on that website. Drop down on TOP will show location. Select your hometown from there.
