Hi puys!
I went through an article in times of india today that CIC(Central Information Commission) has made mandatory to provide question papers and answer keys of an entrance exam conducted by any institute for admission.

Answer keys must be shared under RTI - The Times of India

So I think by RTI we can get our slot question paper and answer keys to get some transparency in the system.
If anybody is interested then plz continue in this thread.
Thanks

Nice initiative..but how do we move on??

Actually I myself have don't idea of how to file RTI but we can discuss here and do the same.As we all know that a number of people are the victims of cat 2011 so why not give it a try......
Through this landmark decision,it will be mandatory for IIMs to disclose question papers along with answer keys of each and every slot.....This will show some clear picture of the system...

I don't think that anything will happen post RTI filing becoz this type of Unfair result declaration has happened last year as well and people had raised their voice against it but to no benefit.

This has happened in the past but with CIC coming stronger in that direction ,we can get some response from IIMs in this regard....
with number of RTIs against it ,they will have to provide answer keys with question papers....
It is worth given a try...

Yeah we can get the question paper and the answer key but what will be the benefit as the result depends upon the method of normalisation because of so many different slots.

And thus its totally IIM sole discretion to decide which slot was more tough nad how all the papers should be normalized. Thus you wont be able to challnege the score even after getting the Q & A of all the slots.

Hi,

From what i know the cost of filing an RTI query is next to nothing. Around 100 bucks. Also the authority has to respond within a span of 45 days after the query has been submitted. Nice Initiative though.Try googling it.

atleast we can get something from nothing......
with question papers and answer keys in our hand of many slots then we can have some idea of how this nomalisation concept works...and with this data then we can also challenge their normalisation process by getting some picture of how slot wise normalisation has been done....
and also as we know that many candidates found some questions wrong in their slots which IIMs rejected as baseless so with answer keys also we can get the answer of this question too...

hmmm......I also think that with answer keys we can't get the funda behind this nomalisation...

No use of filing RTI as question paper and key is decided by Prometric itself and not by IIMs and even the soft copy of all answer files remain with Prometric. It only provides scores of the candidates to the CAT organizing committee. and Prometric doesn't come under RTI as it is a foreign body. :banghead::banghead:
