upper cutoff simply means the highest marks scores for that category and lower cutoff means the core of the last candidate selected in that category simple

bhailog mujhe lagta hai ki ye UPPER CUTOFF AND LOWER CUTOFF ka 2 possible explanation ho sakta hai :
1) Upper Cutoff- Jo set jis RRB me sabse halka hoga oos set me cutoff high hoga and that cutoff is upper cutoff for that department and that rrb.Lower Cutoff-Jo set sabse hard hoga oos set ka cutoff minimum hoga and that is the lower cutoff for that department and that rrb.

Upper Cutoff-RRb wale bluff answer marne wale ladko ko eliminate karne ke liye ek upper limit set kiya hoga jiske oopar wale marks ka selection nahi hoga and ose ye mana jayega ki osne andaaz se sare answers kiye hain.
Lower Cutoff- Ye general lower cutoff hai jiske neeche lane par selection nahi hota hai..
So i think inhi 2 cases me se koi ek case ho sakta hai....
Waise RRB bhopal ke result se ye to clear ho gaya ki mera sse kolkata red set electrical 85 marks pe selection nahi hone wala hai.. I am moving on from this meniac result waiting experience

PS: The marks mentioned are normalized marks out of 150. As we all know, formula used for normalization is not known. But one thing I'm sure is whatever formula they are applying, they must be taking mean and standard deviation into consideration for all 3 sets.
for all those panicking for the meaning of upper & lower cutoff my take is: just like as in counselling of engineering colleges upper cutoff corresponds to opening rank and lower cutoff corresponds to closing rank.. as simple it is!! 😃
