(1) Issuing HIDDEN BUFFER CALLS. (more offer letters given than the no of allocated seats )
(2) 75 HIDDEN BUFFER CALLS in HRM
(3) 40 HIDDEN BUFFER CALLS in BM
(4) ADMISSION OFFICE REFUSED โBUFFER CALLSโ/ โADDITIONAL CALLSโ FOR FULL 1 MONTH While 100s Of others WAITLISTER'S CAREER & LIFE AT STAKE.
it is important to note that there is no official clarification or confirmation regarding the same & the admission process this year seems to go on smoothly.

A request once more from our side. Please be responsible/rational when commenting on this matter on any forum, public or closed. It took us just a week to find out the exact scenario of the buffers. The process took this time because the Admissions Chairperson is currently out of station.
Had the management been not transparent enough, we would not have been able to get the information we are providing you right now. They are NOT ANSWERABLE to us. Still, they provided us all the information and are allowing us to share this with everyone.
So, please do not bash XLRI. The only mistake committed was that there was information asymmetry between the Admin and the Admissions Office, which finally led to the fiasco and delayed response from our side, and also led to wrong information being provided to you all. We do not wish to see comments on ethics, morals, corruption, management seats, etc., though you have the final say in this.
We are providing you with all the information there is. And such comments undermine the student body's efforts. Because we, as students, understand what our institute stands for, and it pains us to read such comments. We managed to get the information you all needed after having a talk with the Director.
The Director was very understanding to the problems aspirants were facing and was quick to direct the Admissions Committee to release the information as soon as possible.
I am quoting below the reply exactly as we received from the Admissions Committee in response to our query, โWe had called 219 candidates for Business Management and 255 candidates for Human Resource Management. This was done only because we had quite a few selected candidates common for both the programmes.โ ____________________________________________ So, this makes for: 39 Buffer Calls in BM 75 Buffer Calls in HRM And this would very well explain the current movement. So, in actual terms, your actual WL number would be โX + Number of Buffersโ
You would agree that this changes equations for HRM WLers completely. The buffers, coupled with a lower than usual number of overlaps due to the CAT fiasco, will keep the movement low for this year. Please make the necessary changes to the trackers so that they may better serve your needs.
We would like to remind you once again that bashing the institute will not change the current scenario in ANY WAY. So, I request you all, however frustrated you are, to please accept the current situation and plan your future actions accordingly. We hope that the movement this year is unprecedentedly high so that the number of affected aspirants are minimal. This is all we can do from our side for now.
We apologize from XLRI's side for the inconveniences and problems caused to everyone because of this move. The only thing we can say to you is that we assure you that we will put in all our efforts to ensure that such an incident does not repeat itself ever again.
