FLASHBACKS
You know, this gigantic mobile that is lying in front of me right now, I don't feel connected to it. It has 351 contacts, but with none can I talk after 2 in the morning. I am still in love with that little samsung keypad phone. Typing for hours made my thumb go numb, but I liked it in a strange way. SMS packs ruled the world that time. I still remember, I was so disappointed on hearing the restriction of '100 sms per day' rule by the govt. I used to count the number of sms after every half an hour of a conversation and had to put in a lot of thought on the 100th one.
I don't believe it when people say that you can know a person truly when you interact with them in real life. Knowing someone does not need real physical interaction on a daily basis. Those digital texts from her that flashed over my screen every now and then, was more than enough for me to know her inside out. I liked her through words...just pure alphabets.
It feels strange how just reading a bunch of words can make one feel good bad sad happy.. I never felt being away from her for even one moment. Sometimes I told her to smile and she used to send me a smiley face. It was that simple.
I never wished my teachers 'good morning' as dedicatedly as I wished her every day..
It's not that we miss a particular thing, it's the memories associated with them that we crave for.
Believe me, I had no idea I will be remembering her tonight. I was looking for an old notebook and while surfing through the mess, there it was, lying dull and inactive, my 7 years old mobile... that once upon a time used to be the centre of my life.. and contained in that were some beautiful people..she was one of them.
She has smartly moved forward in her life now... and here I am, trying to recapture her through words.. for no reason.
("And in the future.. after days and years.. maybe you will remember my last words to you between smiles and tears..
that 'every night when your fortunate eyes will close in sleep..
