If someone has got high marks in Phase 2 and his interview didn't get well....can he/she still made it to list with low interview score or interview board make sure that those who didn't perform well in interview got interview marks in such a way that total of phase 2 and interview remains below final cutoff. PLEASE THROW A LIGHT ON THIS

3rd attempt of mains ... my analysis...cutoff might be around 175+-5... Although every1 is hopeful of interview call.. but FM paper plays trick... specially mgmt qstns... options were tricky.. English will be deciding factor... Most aspirants gets between 60-70... 70 (esi) 65 (english) 60 (fm) wld be a gud score..

esi was tougher english same fm apeared easier but was not easy ....and exam was held earlier than last yr and many upsc candidates didnt gave and nt cleared..... 195 shud be winning score
Many serious UPSC aspirants wouldn't have appeared in first phase due to back to back phase I and UPSC prelims. All papers in phase I epecially english and Quant was tougher than last year. I hope this explains lower cut off in phase I. Further, since many serious upsc aspirants stayed out, MOST of those who cleared phase I must be a hardcore banking aspirants (SBI/IBPS etc). As far as phase II of RBI is concerned, the syllabus (ESI & FM) is quite different when compared to conventional banking exams such as SBI mains. Infact, a UPSC aspirants and MBA/CA can better relate to phase II syllabus. Now, since the intake in phase I is mostly non-UPSC aspirants, the cutoff of phase II should drop. ESI and FM was perhaps easier than last year, but the options where quite vague and confusing (much like UPSC prelims this year). English paper was normal but marks in English is always unpredictable given its subjective nature. Finally, based on above analysis, cutoff for phase II will remain the same as last year and unlikely to go beyond 180. (Opinion is personal)
