Week 2 Plan:

Topics to be covered this week:

1) Economy - Balance of payments, Export Import policy, Industrial & labor policy

2) Finance -  Monetory policy, Fiscal policy, Role of economic planning, Financial institutes - SIDBI, SEBI, EXIM

3) Inflation - Definition, Causes

Important readings:

For economy part, read class XII NCERT, relevant chapters. You need to complete it for the entire course

Ramesh Singh: Chapter 4, 5, 7, 11, 12

ESI: Vol 1, Chapter 2, Vol2, Chapter 2

This will be more than enough for this week. Covers about 15-20%

SIDBI, EXIM, Etc has to be done through internet. No good resource available for it in general. These are important as you need to learn various schemes.

While reading about EXIM, you can also start leaning about global economic policies of India, export Import bills, etc

There is also importance of Make in India on economy. Study it in light of import/export and domestic consumption.

Make in India - Understand perspective of our governor & PM. Apparently, they have different views on this.

I also advise you to study India - China economic development while doing this. It is a large portion this week but I am sure you will cover it.

Apart from these readings, you need to search internet if you are stuck.
