On campus recruits are not necessarily posted to Mumbai ;-)
@lalo sanjay.i have not prepared for prelims and dont know how i cleared it.but what i pecieve abt this exam is one can benifit by reading ET daily.then u can go through any basic book on finance and economics.i have gone through macroeconomics books of ncert for high school.u can just take the mains syllabus for rbi.can scrutinise the syllabus (leave management part as not asked in prelims) and just collect basic mateerial from internet as wide matter is available.can go through RBI site and its press release.something worth is always there.u r bank po so reasoning and maths source r better known to u.level is equal to other bank po.i should not guide u but i will say try to attempt most easy question in maths and reasoning first as RBI has seperate time limit for every section and thats something difference from other PO exam.rest is upto god.dont dishertened by PO job.its still good as i have realised after joining FCI.I think i was better with Vijaya bank.
i am not sure about this but i saw that animated video at youtube. it states that college graduates are placed at Cn D grades............i cant believe so asked????

Hi Mate,
C and D grades are by promotion only. Not even PhD's are recruited directly to the above grades. The only way one can come in at the top is via the Deputy Governor route (nominated by Central Govt and approved by the RBI Central board), or the Governor (IAS officer).
RBI recruits directly and va campus for grade B nly. This is from first-hand experience and not via the internet :-)
In addition, it would be in everyone's interest if we used this forum to prepare for the exam, rather than squabbling over things like pay/perks/facilities yada yada yada...

Sir, I am doing M.Tech. now and don't have much time to study....Plan to appear for exam next year.... How much time for study is sufficient to clear the exams (pre and mains) ????? And to be precise , what should be plan to study for exam when you dont have any idea abt finance and economy (start from basics) ?????

Guys from here onwards, we wl start gk n economy part preparation. I will be posting regularly some gk questions or economy concepts.. If there r some others who r interested can take the initiative. This will be quite hepful as i will have to synchronize this with cat pre..But from nov onwards , i wl post regualrly.. Moreover if anyone wants to post some doubts in questions,it is always welcome. So, should we start pre in this forum or create a separate one just for the preparation part only?? friends float ur suggestions early and help sharing the initiative.. we will make it big this time. just one suggestion..........all the update/ new things should have a heading "RBI - MISSION COUNTER "
all the posts will have new unique no like "rbi - mission counter 1/2/3/4....."
every person before posting somthing new will see the last post and then assign the next number to the post!
