hey frnds.. i m in a bit dilemma.. I m a RBI exam aspirant..I m planning to appear for grade b exam dis year. meanwhile i gave cet exam n i didnt score well. i hv got Bedekar college through cap rounds but m very reluctant to take admission in d college.. d prob is dat i wanna give rbi exam but i m also very confused whether i should go for mba or not.. can anyone pls help me out..
@[469328:Inspiracion]: thanks man for the right advice, no wonder you are in RBI!
i picked up CFA not because of RBI but as i was getting interested in finance fields through market ofcourse, then i came to know about RBI, i never knew about all this! and the regulator fascinated me a lot!
Doing a M.Phil or a master in eco is difficult as im working now and have this rbi to clear, and it will also take me some time before completing them courses!
i got what you said, that i should look @ DEPR but im 26 now so do you think i will have time! and do you think even in grade B, we will have opportunity to study and all???? and what sort of dept are u in, and in how many years could we get treasury!
and generally i think sundaram could be read to have finer knowledge of eco?????

thanks finally!
Well buddy,
I thought I'd give you my two cents since you should have a realistic view of the ground reality. If I'm not mistaken the eligibility for DEPR is MA Eco (u could check if they accept part -time), and 30 years, so yes you still have the time.
You have plenty of opportunities to study and further your qualifications in RBI, but if the question is will it really help you move to research, then the answer is no. In addition, beyond a point, it is the work you do on the ground that makes you reach the top in RBI and not a bag full of qualifications.
So weigh your expectations and the organization's expectation carefully before you make a call....ATB

Hi Dinesh,
You do not need to send another a set of documents if you have sent on already...
Marks vary from year to year, and is dependent on the relative difficulty level of the paper, as well as the interview panel and their subjectivity/objectivity.
The thing is once in, people are a bit reluctant to discuss their marks as it may lead to someone feeling inferior. Hence though most of us know the merit list in terms of the ranks, we do not know each others break-up...

@[469328:Inspiracion]: hey thanks again for the realistic feedback!
see the thing is, i work in nielsen and got in coz of MBA, i didnt know any thing about the research! that is how i got to see the world of statistic which is very important along with many main subject now a days along with economics! have been working here for 2 years! though im reading stats too but let me tell you what im inclined towards!
now the things is i got interested in all this stuff looking at the capital market, all over the world including most of the asset classes and my fav industry became banking, that led me to RBI and i think i would better at designing policies, assessing the macro-micro situation and all, inflation, growth, etc etc! actually among all this banks fascinate me, and i like their working and so! treasury, investment, fiscal policies, monetray policies are my fav! i think this will give u brief idea of what i like!
i think we have another opening for guys from stats background doing quant research and this is more like economics research as i percieve it! im inlcined towrds thier functioning rather than research to be specific! and master degree in eco is not a problem!
