Hi, you can pick any book on reasoning and all are good, but the point is how to go about it. You try to solve the difficult puzzle question irrespective of the time taken(be it 30 mins initially), and then try to solve 10 more questions of the similar type, your speed and accuracy will definitely increase. You can also try solving 'puzzles to puzzle you' bu Shakuntala Devi. Remember one thing whenever you are solving any puzzle always keep cool and also remember that it is not the person who attempts all the questions wins, but the person who attempts maximum correct wins.

The pattern is not fixed by RBI, but generally you have 200 questions comprising of General Awareness, Quant, Reasoning,English. The paper of RBI 2009 had 210 questions and 2010 had 200 questions and then 2011 had 200 questions. Same goes for the marks allotted to each question, as sometimes they have weightage marks and sometime normal marks. They give more weightage to the General Awareness part.
Date of the exam is declared as and when the notification comes.

Last week of June.
Puys..Just called up RBI services board about the result..they say it will take some more time..The lady wasn't giving me a range but said definitely more than a week..so some more waiting for all of us!

What is/are the best recommended materials for the GK section for this post of RBI?
In RBI adv the time limit for RBI Phase 1 ppr is stated as 3 hrs..but on threads of PG everyone is saying it's 2 hrs...can someone plz specify what is the time limit???..

There is time limit for each section which is always specified in the admit card. The exam held on 18th dec had the following time limits -
General Awareness - 80 questions (45 minutes)
English - 30 questions (20 minutes)
Quant - 30 questions (20minutes)
Reasoning - 60 questions (45 minutes)
Moreover you cannot go to the previous section once the time specified for that section is over, also you are not allowed to go to the next section in case you have finished one section before the mentioned time.

I think it will be conducted this year, since RBI is planning to expand in the North East areas also. So we can expect the notification somewhere around August/September.

Today I called the RBI services board and they told that result of grade b phase 2 will be out in 7 to 10 days. So we can expect it to be out on 4th July.

I think they put up the notification only after last year's placement of this post.
And since their phase 2 result is yet to be declared, the notification for this year will take time keeping interview and final placement of the officers from last year in mind.
