Hi guys , is there any thread for the discussion of RBI grade B mains exam?
I guess this thread is meant for the same..it's just that people seem to have disappeared after giving the exam..:P expect them to come back before the results are announced

Expect a score of 165 to fetch a call...the cut off last year for Gen category was 171 which was a little unusual considering the fact that 150-160 used to be enough previously.. This year paper 2 was a little tough so I think 165 should be safe going by last year's scores.
The no of people writing the mains is almost the same as last year because of the no of vacancies being more or less the same..plus paper 2 would not fetch high scores this year..the prelims cut off this year was actually lower than last year so that again shows the quality of ppl too is pretty much similar..so don't expect the cut offs to vary a lot
I got to know that Kiran publication's book for Grade B officer is good,it covers syllabus of main exam as well. Please share your views. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Kiran publication's book for Grade B mains is the worst book I would recommend, rather for RBI mains solve the previous years papers and go through the Economic Survey, Economic Times, The Hindu, Dutt & Sundharam, L.N Prasad for management. This should do it.
With due respect, cutoffs vary from year to year. The logic of a cutoff is based on a simple funda, let's say RBI decides to call mains qualifiers in a ratio of 1:6 (that would be approx 480 candidates) for teh interview round, then the marks of the 480th candidate would be the cutoff. If there are 2 students on the same mark level, then the consequent cutoff would be that much higher.
In addition, avoid being misled by certain sites, which "CLAIM" to have got the cutoff marks through an RTI. RBI automatically releases the cutoffs after the final selections for the exam are complete, hence the RTI claim holds no water.

Hi, I also have the same question as what things are to be taken care of if one gets an interview call. I am from non banking background, so what kind of questions could be asked?
