Vegetables is generally not considered as a crop. Growing Vegetables is a type of horticulture and horticulture is associated with golden revolution and not green revolution!!! Secondly, primary focus of green revolution was self sufficiency in food grain production and not vegetable production. Thirdly, NE states have a good geographical and geological suitability for paddy cultivation. Fourthly, this is one of the sub-schemes of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana launched for 2011-2012. One of the sub-scheme is definitely increase in production of vegetables but for NE states the primary focus is paddy!! Hope now it's clear to you!!!

I know that buddy...dont be agitated.... my point is that in the same document it is mentioned that second green revolution will be horticulture intensive ......which i had read and thats what confused me about the choices.... actually that was why i took my chance on the 'vegetable' choice... lets c... sab khuda ke haath me hai ...

Acc to my info... Arnd 8000 candidates will be callee fr mains among 1.6 lakh candidates... From 8000 arnd 400 gt interviww calls n thn 75-80 gt selected. Howevr smbdy mentioned a fig of 1500 on this thread.... Can smbdy clarify wt is the actual no of calls given as per previous figures

last years result of phase 1 is here Reserve Bank of India a rough estimate of total selections would be 1600 plus or minus 100.

India is self sufficient in paddy baby... it is an exporter... n revolution is needed in dose crops where d productivity is low...productivity is very high in case of paddy as it has optimal conditions for its production .... n by d way i had read an enitre article about dis 2nd green revolution in The HIndu by M.S Swaminathan.... dere also a YOJANA issue with spl focus on NE states ..dec one i fink.... check from dat too...n dont argue again wid me....pehle thoda padh lo fir baat kiya karo...
