i have heard that rbi recruits from mba colleges directly for grade b is it true?
which are those colleges...any idea.

all of these questions related to rbi
well here is my friend working in rbi lucknow as assistant he had this to say
monday to friday office
timings- 9:30 to 5: 30 [ they are pretty much strict on office timings at start of the day , says if one is late by 10 minutes then it is counted late ]
what work he is doing currently -- he is some " chest vault" -- i don't know the excat word but he mentioned this
what he does -- makes a deposit of " soil " notes or maybe it is pronounce "shoil " these are mostly those notes which are basically torn or not in proper condition like muddy or very old he has to make a note of these notes daily and deposit them , make a daily account of these notes .
his salary -- in hand around 22k with amenities like 25 litre petrol and other food itmes [ though i am not sure on food items ]
grade a officers -- he said as per policy assitants become grade a officers in 3 years and he told me that almost whole rbi is retiring now so assistants would be made grade a officers almost for sure because banks don't have enough manpower so the banks authority will make sure assistants become grade a officers atleast in lucknow in a gist -- men are less and ppl are retiring so banks have no choice rather than to make assitants grade a officers . he said he has seen close to 15 retirements in last 4 months
grade a would be getting close to 40+ for sure infact he said 50 +
grade b notification -- he told no idea but as per conditions be hopeful as whole manpower is retiring

As far as I know,they recruit only for Grade-B officers and assistants. :-)

Rajbhasa Adhikai, Engineering type ka do ek mei Grade A bhi recruited hoti hai...but number is very less...

5. SERVICE CONDITIONS / CAREER PROSPECTS:
(i) Pay Scale:
Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of Rs.21,000/- p.m. in the scale of Rs.21000-1000-30000-EB-1000-32000-1100-36400 applicable to Officers in Grade B and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments to direct recruit Grade B Officers are approximately Rs.38,853/-.
(ii) Perquisites:
Bank's accommodation subject to availability, reimbursement of expenses for maintenance of vehicle for official purpose, newspaper, telephone charges, book grant, allowance for furnishing of residence, etc. as per eligibility. Free dispensary facility besides reimbursement of medical expenses for OPD treatment/hospitalization as per eligibility. Interest free festival advance, Leave Fare Concession (once in two years for self, spouse and eligible dependents). Loans and Advances at concessional rates of interest for Housing, Car, Education, Consumer Articles, Personal Computer, etc. The posts also carry benefits of Provident Fund, Pension and Gratuity. Total pay and allowances along with admissible perquisites attached to the post considering market value of housing in Mumbai work out at the minimum of Rs10.00 lakhs p.a. (approx.) on a cost to the Bank basis.
NOTE: For candidates possessing very high academic or professional qualification/ experience ofsignificant value to the Bank, the Bank may, at its sole discretion, consider granting up to fouradvance increments. The Board, at the sole discretion, will consider requests for higher emoluments on account of higher qualification/special experience of value to the Bank at the interview stage only. Such information may be furnished in the Bio-data form in the appropriate column. The number of maximum increments will be 4. The Board/Bank will not entertain any request received after the interview.
(iii) At certain centres, limited number of residential quarters are available. Facility for securing residential accommodation on lease, however, exists at all centres.
(iv) Initial appointment will be on probation for a period of two years which may, at Bank's discretion, be extended upto a maximum period of fouryears.
(v) There are reasonable prospects for promotion to higher grades.
(vi) Selected candidates are liable to be posted and transferred anywhere in India

one can easily make out rbi grade b officer gets above 60 for sure
we have one rbi grade b officer here in this thread he himself mentioned CTC close to 10 lpa in mumbai .see it few pages back

a couple of years earlier they recruited from IIM Indore
but now according to high court order PSU s or gvot offices can't recruit from colleges rather conduct an all india exam

hi puys, I have appeared in Grade B RBI, twice before, fell short by 15 and 10 marks respectively in the final selection.RBI has lost a case against some social organisation for the blind. The case was about the vacancies of PH candidates going abegging and given to general candidates without following govt protocol.Court has ordered to conduct special recruitment drive..this may be the reason for the delay in notification.
@sanchitconfused bro, u can refer to the advertisement published in 2011, in hand salary is close to 38 k, and CTC is 10 lacs but CTC and inhand salary are different
can anyone give me details about the promotion of rbi grade b officers.
