I am not working in RBI. I am preparing for RBI mains by d way. Even I am also from technical background but I read NCERT books to get basics.. U can find some basic Economic stuff from PO forum in this site or from net or u can go 4 some books like money, banking and finance by BSC publications.. But go thru it and buy d book only if u like it..All the best:)

I searched my city and net also i got only paper 2007 from this forum...And plz mention here if anybody receives Call letter for phase 2....Thank you all...

I have cleared the 1st stage, but i don't know what the grade B thing is all about. whats the job profile? is there any training period? how much is the salary offered? what are the career prospects? I have got a final call from IIFT delhi and i'm waiting for the IIM I result to be out. I'm also a CFA L1 candidate. any information would be really appreciated.

In rbi grade A means asst. manager
Grade B means manager grade C= asst. general manager
Grade D= general manager and so on.
Job profile = there are various dept in rbi like forex reserve,IT etc
You will be posted in any one of these or in any admin dept.
Training period = 2 years. Salary=rs 40000 (present da,including hra)
Career prospects = u can raise till deputy governor of rbi. Governor
Is always an ias officer (normally an ex finance secretary).
In addition u can be working in IMF,World Bank as an representative of
Rbi.

thanks bro. it really sounds good. but i doubt how fast will the growth be? i'm actually confused between going for an mba in finance from some good colleges like IIFT Delhi and IIM Indore and a job in RBI grade B.lots of things to consider. RBI will give me a settled life already. mba would need lots of expenses and 2 years of rigorous studying and a good and challenging after mba life. I can't decide. anyways what after the 2 years training period? there will be an appraisal na? the 40k thing you talked about is in the training period na?

Bro,dont overthink it. It really is your choice . let me tell you the work in RBI in initial years will be highly monotonous but it also gives the biggest brand name you can have on your CV for later growth.
