Well I think UPA doesn't want to listen to anyone and just want to stay in the centre by keeping the alliances happy or a group of voter happy.
I would quote here a sentence said by Mr. Arun Jaitley in parliament "You don't need magic to tackle corruption. All you need is a political will." and we can see in UPA's this term there is no political will to do anything good for the nation as all whole.
Now many of the UPA supporter might contradict to this but then again the policies either promised or initiated were lacking in its goal or were never implemented....
In the end i would say, If the govt want to save the country & moved ahead then they need to listen to opposition, people & their group of advisers and implement instead of just discussion of various policies that has been initiated but not implemented.

1. political crisis
2. absence of political will
3.corruption
4. inflation
5. no vision
6. no decision takiing capabilities
7. electoral crimes ,financial crimes committed by this government
8. the mismanagement and apathy towards farmers
u can launch agni but cam't provide sacks to store food
9. black money issue
10. some criminal ppl sitting in parliamnet -- they are criminals and i may sound vocal but they should be hanged for the crimes they have done
not only hanged but hanged multiple times
11. fighting ppl who are fighting social injustice be it ramdev or anna hazare
they were either thrashed or shown the back door
12. some ministers and neta who are more interested in cricket rather than their portfolios , some of them have killed alone thousands of farmers with their policies

- it is giving high value to the people with no values like TMC , DMK .

i don't want to start a pro/anti party debate here because i am neutral in case of Indian politics.
BJP hasn't done much in its tenure while Mr. Vajpayee was there.
if we discuss the oil prices, they kept them artificially low and then after making sure that they won't come again into power, they passed the buck to UPA govt to take the beating.
if you again see what Punjab's SAD + BJP combine has done, you will wonder why the fiscal deficit is going so high.
its all because of non sense perks like free electricity etc to the farmers.
and to sum up my point of view here, i don't understand why BJP cries about the Ram mandir in ayodhya every time in almost all of their manifestos?
i am a nationalist hindu and pray in front of lord rama whenever i go to temple.
how does it help me if a ram mandir is there in ayodhya or not?
does it fill my pockets with gold nuggets? or does it give me a flat and a car in new delhi's south ex suburb?
it is total non sense to me when they ask for votes quoting that ram mandir issue.

BJP isn't very "doodh ki dhuli" party either.
the point is we need to elect a government which does development, irrespective of the party or beliefs.
i know BJP has done very well in MP and chhatisgarh (although i m not very knowledgeable in that area).
still it does not make them completely corruption free and the ideal party to vote for.
Secularism is the principle of separation between government institutions and the persons mandated to represent the State from religious institutions and religious dignitaries.Secularism doesnt exist in reality in INDIA.For Gods sake I wish this scenario changes.Votes in the name of religion!where are we heading? When something wrong happens ,irrespective of the caste or economic status they have to be punished.It doesnt imply that if a section of muslims/hindus/any other commits a crime,then innocent muslims/hindus/.... have to be spared.But in reality in some states which I dont want to mention,religious crimes are happening with full support from government that even the police department finds it impossible to fight for justice.Imagine a state where human trafficking is happening with full support from people of power,when a particular religion is abused or exploited and nothing is done about it,then obviously people in the exploited religion will rise against this,and normal citizens cant do much about this ,so again,people in power belonging to the exploited religion starts fighting against this.This is human nature,But an eye for an eye makes the world blind.If the people who are commiting crimes or supporting them are strictly punished,then there will not be any need for religious groups(that exists now)
Is there a solution?Yes,if the government can take strict action against those exploiting others in the name of religion,and this doesnt mean only hindus /muslims are to be protected!every human has a right to live here in peace,at the same time let others also live in peace."Respect for every religion and security to live in peace"-This can only be a vision.I wish for a government that doesnt have memory loss(like in the case of mumbai attack)and address the issues with clarity and sense,taking strict and immediate action.The government has power ,what more they need.They have to analyse the loopholes make it corruption free ,instead of that the Govt should not take advantage of the loopholes.
ps:I too am neutral,when it comes to ruling party.For all that we have heard about the congress desperate for muslim votes ,that made it blind to take any action against the muslim irregularities.And the BJP that garners the Hindu vote and considers the muslims as enemies.We need a government that knows the practical meaning of secularism.I dont favour a particular party and wish for a strong government.
I hope the thread stays free from political talks and we dont compare political parties and look at UPA as a whole.
Coming to the discussion I wrote this comment on a TOI article long time back "Manmohan Singh has responsibility but no power. Madam G and Rahul G have power but no responsibility. Indians dont have responsibility nor power till 2014."
I think India needs a strong PM to usher growth and sadly its not the case now.
my 2 cents
1) It has been proved in UPA-II tenure that even a person of calibre of MMS cant do anything to stem the rot in the system - though I am neutral to Narendra Modi , he is the person one should learn from about administration , he is a simple man and has the will to give good governance- all else is secondary .....where leaders are good , there it does not matter whether it is Congress or BJP
2)Apart from the Governance deficit -which of course plays an important part in a country's economy , I feel that the Corporates too have been sluggish and have not really worked hard in the past few years - may be they have taken success for granted ??? RIL , Infosys ......just sitting on past laurels.....??
3)People do have the power to change the system and this was evident in the recent UP elections , what remains to be seen is whether a young educated competent guy Akhilesh Yadav would be able to come out tops in a Samajwadi Part full of criminals ...If he can pull this off , then I think we will see some interesting developments in the near future
4) Last but not the least , I am very positive on the future of our country more so because even young guys at PG are opening threads for serious , meaningful discussions !! this augurs well

The problem is that government cannot cut taxes on petrol/diesel/lpg because they are running a high fiscal deficit. However given the black money existing in places like Switzerland, Germany and other European countries we can easily clear all that deficit plus use the rest of money for the development of the country.
I hope someday the money comes to India and it goes to the development of the people.
