hi i am working in HCL (bpo) for the past 6 months recently HCL came up with a scheme name ASPIRE .
ASPIRE - trasnferrng the bpo-tech support oficers to HCL tech for software division . & INFRA - hardware division ,
1. for engg - its 1 year course in NIIT & CMC
2.any deg with certificate - ! & Half year . in NIIT & CMC .
3.any deg without any certificate -2 years
I unlucky landed in the 3 option where i finished my BBA in corres. i thought i had a option of goin to the software division where i studied computers in 12th .
The deal with HCL will be i will be on floor taking calls for 4 days & 2 days will be goin training in NIIT for GNIIT course for 2 years & 1 day holiday .
in the 4 day working period i will paid only for the 4 days i wrok on the whole month . this will be for 6 months & then i wil be getting my normal full salary for the rest 1 & half year . in the 2 year spam i will not be eligible in any IJP -internal job posting i will be a just taking calls for 2 years . will be getting upraisal.
after my 2 year in HCL bpo they assured that they will get a job in HCL tech as a software engg . And my 2 year exp will be counted as a software exp while entering into HCL tech .
the course fees offered to the groups are ,
1. for engg - its 1 year course in NIIT & CMC -35,000/-
2.any deg with certificate - ! & Half year . in NIIT & CMC .-48,000/-
3.any deg without any certificate -2 years -1 lakh /-
so i have to pay 1 lakh to study te course & will go to HCL tech after 2 years & will need to stay in the same company for 2 more years to get my 1 lakh back which i paid for the course fees .
i just want to know will thy consider me as a software engg ,when i leave that company after 4-5years , or will my BBA Deg reflect there . or can i just walk out & do a regular MBA in a good college after trying cat ,xat & other exams .
i couldnt clearly make a ny decision on this i need some help & support from my pagalguys so that i cant go accordingly .

Unless you have worked for SW for so many months, i wonder how HCL can give you a certificate of SW work while you were working for BPO. looks to me like a gimmick for attracting and retention. For the first 2 years you will be getting a BPO exp only. even if you start in HCL tech after 2 years, you will be considered entry level. further you cannot shift to other co.s in SW except HCL.
there will not be any probs with MBA. every where your total exp will be considered. for other SW co.s with BBA your position will be lesser than that of enggs with similar exp. only 2 yrs of SW exp will be considered. most co.s now go for stringent background checks so you wont be able to misquote BPO exp as SW exp. point is career growth will be slower than BE/MCA's for first few yrs. once u do MBA from a gud school, its up to your calibre. no more discrimination in industry.

I read your post just a few days back.. And I hope you are still working with HCL since I need some advice from you.. I am currently working with Arvato Services in Gurgaon as a Technical Support Rep., and I completed my B.E. in 2008.. I am looking to join HCL BPO in the Technical Support function, so that I can acquire the Aspire program to get into Software Development in HCL, since I have always wanted to go into Software field..
Now, if you are still working with HCL, you must be having enough experience to tell me whether it is truly possible to move into Software Development or they just divert us to some support function, after completing the Aspire program.. Even if you are not with HCL, you may still have some knowledge about the true authenticity of this program..
So, kindly help..

I am associated with HCL technologies since 14 months,i recently came to know about ASPIRE,it is an initiative taken by the HCL BPO to furnish the skills of the employees through trainings and workshops.
But as far as the surity of the movement into INFRA or TECH domain is concerned,it is almost unlikely.They wont hire BPO employees.
BTW the culture of the company is similar to that of other IT giants like infy,tcs.You would get ample growth oppurtunuties.

Sir,i have been recently appointed as a TSO and as a part of the recruitment drive,we were suggested that we will be eligible for the ASPIRE program after 09 months or so. I want to know that does it really happens for those who want to relocate to s/w wing?
In case it does have such a provision,then what is the time duration of the training and by what time we could be shifted to the s/w wing?
What about B.Tech guys.......is there any scope for us?

Sure....
to be elegible for this you need to be 9 month old in HCL...... ASPIRE is a 10 months course... after completion of the course you need to wait for upto 3 months(it might get extend as well)....and then u'll get the movement date from your Line HR....
