hello everyone........ im a little weak at quant and would like to start off with the fundamentals and get the concepts right before i plunge into the problem solving ... im plannin to buy 10,11 ,12 th maths books of CBSE or should i go in for ICSE.... pls help me on this one.
and are there any other good books for maths u all could suggest , for DI as well ...
thanks!!
Use the ICSE/CBSE text books only for concepts. Do not practise using the lenghty steps that they illustrate - that will be a step back from the CAT. Once your concepts are clear, you can tackle the BRMs ( go directly to the exercises ) and then you can try either R S Agarwal followed by Quantitative Aptitude by Guha. That should be enough foundation before taking tests and devising strategies.
Think without ink .....
MRP : 295/- (not sure about this... )

i did my schooling from ICSE and then ISC...
what i feel is that reading these books are not that worth for cat...
may be u can get the fundamental ideas...
but please do not try to solve the probs as they try to solve...
i remember my teacher saying that more than the anwer the steps were important in ISC exams
and that is true....so we used to write each step that we did to solve the prob...
if u go through the book u can see that they will solve a problem in the most elaborate method that is possible..
so try to get the concepts and please do not focus on the solved probs...moreover the probs are too tough also...
:-)
