Q3. what is the LCM of (x+3)(6x^2 + 5x+ 4) and (2x^2 + 7x+3)(x+3)?

I THINK( 6x^2 + 5x- 4)IS THE EQUATION THERE
IF IT IS SO

LCM=(2X-1)(2X+1)(X+3)^2

CORRECT IF AM WRONG.

Block-2, PreAssesment Test, Qn:18
A train X departs from station A at 11:00 AM for station B which is 180 KM away.Another train departs from Station B at 11 AM for Station A.Train X travels at 70 KM/hr and does not stop anywhere until it arrives at station B.Train Y travels at an average speed of 50Km/hr, but has to stop for 10 minutes at staion C, which is 60 km away from staiotion B entoute to station A.Ignoring the lengthes of trains, what is the distance to nearest Km from station A to the point where trains cross each other?
a)110
b)112
c)116
d)None of these.

see to travel 60km the train y must have taken 1.2hrs in those 1.2hrs train x covered 1.2*70=84kms and when train y stopped for 10 min train x covered 0.166*70=11.2kms ie 95.2 kms so now both move towards each other theyneed to cover 180-(95.2+60)kms to meet the time taken is 24.8/120=0.2083 hrs in that time train x covers another 14kms and they meet so distance from pt a is 95.2+14 =110kms
hope it helps

is it 110km ?

Yes, but how?
In a group, each boy's quota of match stick to fill into boxes is not more than 200 per session. If he reduces the number of sticks per box by 25, he can fill 3 more boxes with the total no. of stick assigned to him. Which of the following is the possible no. of stick assigned to each boy?

a) 200 b)150 c)125 d)175

x => No. of stick
Xy = (x-25)(y+3)
3x-25y = 75

x = 25(3+y) / 3

Y should be multiple of 3 so option b.

hemant89=4 ?

Take both as > 0
3x =5 (so no integral value)
solve for x-3 0
x =-1

again x =-1
x =-9
so only 2 possible integral values of x.
Please confirm OA.

denotes the greatest integer value just below x and {x} its fractional value. The sum of ^3 and {x}^2 is -7.91. Find x.

Though the book says -1.7 , the justification is not very clear can some one please help me understand, How?

as far as is concerned is fine greatest integer value below -1.7 is -2 and ^3 is -8 but how come {x}^2 is equal to .09 cause 0.7^2=0.49

Please explain

Q2. what is the no. of zeroes in the following:
3200*1000*40000*32000*15000000

sol:
total no. of zeroes =19

0's =18
5's = 1

one 5 * by 2 will give one more zero.
Q3. A 2 digit no. is thrice as large as the sum of its digits, and the sq. of that sum is equal to the trebled required no.. Find the no?
sol:
x+10y = 3(x+y) --------(1)

(x+y)^2 = (x+10y)*3 ----------------(2)

{(x+10y)/3}^2 = 3*(x+10y)

x+10y = 27..................required answer
Q7 find the 3 digit no. if it is known that the sum of its digits is 17 and the sum of the square of its digits is 109 . If we subtract 495 from this no. , we obtain a no consisting of the same digits written in reverse order.
sol;

17 = (8,6,3)

109 = (64 + 36 + 9)

863 - 495 = 368

so required no = 863
Q1. The greatest no. which will divide 4003,4126 and 4249:
  1. 43
  2. 41
  3. 45
  4. None of these

is it none of these???

4003 not divisible by neither 45 nor 43.
4003 is also not divisible 41.
