I have two doubts.

Q:1 There are two mixtures of honey and water, the quantity of honey in them being 25 and 75% of the mixture. If 2 gallons of the first are mixed with 3 gallons of the second, what will be the ratio of honey to water in the new mixture?

Q:2 A vessel is full of mixture of kerosene and petrol in which there is 18% kerosene. Eight litrs are drawn off and then the vessel is filled with petrol. I kerosene is now 15%, how much does the vessel hold?

2) and second should be 48 litres....
becoz 18%of 8 litres cause change of 3% in total=

18*8/3=48 litres

(10x+y) * (10a+b) = 200x+20(x+y)+2y

10x+y * 10a+b = 22(10x+y)

10a+b=22:)

consider only honey percentage in 2 mixture.
A - 25% and B - 75%

so when

2 liter of mixture A is mixed, the percentage of honey mixed is (2*.25) = 0.5
similarly when you mix 3 liter of mixture B you'll mix 3*.75 = 2.25.

so the amount of honey in mixture is (2.25 + 0.5)/(2 + 3) = 11/20.

this is the ration of honey/(honey + water)....so ratio of hone/ water = 11/(20- 11) = 11/9


for question 2nd

when 8 liter mixture was taken out the amount of kerosene taken out was 8*.18 = 1.44 liter. this 1.44 liter cause 3 % change in the mixture level of kerosene so if 3% of kerosene = 1.44 liter
100% of kerosene = 1.44*100/3 = 48 liter.

that is the volume of your mixture. I hope you get the explanation.

Let the no. Of stolen mangoes be x.

X-(1/3*x+1)=2/3*x-1

{2/3*x-1} - {1/3(2/3*x - 1)+1} = 4x/9-5/3

{4x/9-5/3} - {1/5(4x/9 - 5/3) +4 } = 16x/45 - 16/3

now,
16x/45 - 16/3 = 0

x/45 = 1/3

x=15.ans:)

I SOLVED IT BY USING OPTIONS
only OPTION (c)-------- will satisfy
appointed earlier
= 10
not reported for work = 4
WORK TO BE DONE =480
INITALLY ALL WERE SUPPOSED TO STICH 48 SHIRTS
BUT NOW WORKERS DECREASED TO 6 SO WORK(SHIRT TO BE STICHED) INCREased to 80.

and 80*6 =480

(x+3)-2(x+1)=4 there is no need of this equation , as this will never happen......anyways thanks for the help
