answer is correct...and let me tell you a trick for these kinds of question...always for saveing time and escpaeing from calculation...take lcm of 2 values given...for ex..here
A=7:2=7+2=9
B=7:11=7+11=18
take lcm of both...will shorten calculation...here it will be 18...now take 18 as the amount of both alloy(A,B)
and then just add them you will find the answer...
hope it will help...

i got 14 kg of 1st and 7 kg of 2nd
i was unable to proceed further i too used the same technique..can u explain more clearly

Hello, for A a=7/9 b=2/9
for B a=7/18 b =11/18 irrespective of any wt.
for c let take equal quantity of both say X
total a in c= 7X/9 + 7X/18--------------------(1)
total b in c= 2X/9 + 11X/18--------------------(2)
req.= (1)/(2) it's coming 21/15 , for simplicity take X to be 18 ie LCM(9,1

The sum of the numerator and denominater of a +ve fraction is 11,if 2 is added to both num..and den..,,the fraction is increased by 1/24.the difference of numerator and denominater of the fraction is
A) 5
B) 3
C) 1
D) 9
what is the detail solution.

A) 5
B) 3
C) 1
D) 9
what is the detail solution.

Let the fraction be x/y

x+y=11 => x=11-y......(1)

x+2/y+2=x/y + 1/24
Solving this and putting the value of x we will get a quadratic in y

y^2-94y+528=0

The valid value of y is 6, which makes x=5

So difference is = 1
The sum of the numerator and denominater of a +ve fraction is 11,if 2 is added to both num..and den..,,the fraction is increased by 1/24.the difference of numerator and denominater of the fraction is-
A) 5
B) 3
C) 1
D) 9
what is the detail solution.

x+y =11
x+2 / y+2 =x/y +1/24
x+2/y+2 =24x+y / 24y
Cross multiply and u will get
y^2 +2y+48x-48y
Replace the value of x with x=11-y
and by solving u will get y^2-94y+528=0
solve this quadratic equation and y=6 will come
x+y=11
then x=5
differ. =1

if x=2-2^1/3 +2^2/3

then what is the value of
x^3 - 6 x^2 +18x+18

if x=2-2^1/3 +2^2/3

then what is the value of
x^3 - 6 x^2 +18x+18

i think iska answer
6(2)^1/3-6(2)^2/3-14 hai kya?????sign ki mistakes ho sakti hai..will share my approach ...if my answer is correct.....

if x=2-2^1/3 +2^2/3

then what is the value of
x^3 - 6 x^2 +18x+18

Given,
x=2-2^1/3+2^2/3
=> (x-2) = 2^2/3 - 2^1/3
=> (x-2)^3 = x^3 - 8 - 6x(x-2)
and RHS = 4 - 2 - 3.2(2^2/3 - 2^1/3)
=> RHS = 2 - 6(x-2)
=> x^3 - 8 - 6x^2 + 12x = 2 -6x + 12
=> x^3 -6x^2 +18x = 14+8 = 22
=> So the value is 22 + 18 = 40

thanks in advance guys

1) After an increment of 7 in both numerator and the dinominator,a fraction changes to 3/4.find the original fraction

2) If a, b
, c and d are proportional then the mean proportion between a2 + c2 and b2 + d2 is
a)ac/bd b)ab+cd c)a/b+d/c d)a^2/b^2 +c^2/d^2 e)none

3) If 30 oxen can plough 1/7th of a field in 4 hours, in how many hours will 18 oxen take to do the remaining work?

pls explain in detail
thanx in advance

Given Area of Triangle AOE = 15
=> 1/2 * OE * OA = 15
=> 1/2 * x * 2x = 15
=> x^2 = 15
Now for area of quadrilateral BDOF
=> Area of triangle OBD + OBF
=> 1/2 * OD * OB + 1/2 * OF * FB
=> 1/2 * x * 2x + 1/2 * x * 2x
=> 2x^2
=> 30cm^2

1.)2/5....

solution of 1st question
let the fraction be N/D
now add 7 to both
N+7/D+7=3/4
now solve the equation...you will get 4N=3D-7
it is an simple equation which gets satisfiesd on D=5 and N=2
kindly share solution of 3rd question..let me know where i am lacking....

I solved third one using Using chain rule:
30*6/7*2=18*1/7*x
x=180*2/18=20 days
I solved third one using Using chain rule:
30*6/7*2=18*1/7*x

I think iska answer 40hrs hoga

1/7th of the work requires= 30x4 "oxen-hours "

So 6/7th of the work requires= 30x4x6

Now there are 18 oxen,so they will need 30x4x6/18= 40 hours

my take is option (d) what is the correct answer...
best possible way to do such kind of question is assume 2 values...
a=10 and b=20...and try to take bigger value but easy one...or i would say the one's which end with zeros because they will make calculation easy........put them in different options and you will get your answer...
correct me if i am wrong
