From a team of 4men and 4 women, a committee has to be formed such that it can have a maximum of 2 women and having at the maximum one woman holding one of the two posts of the committee, the committee has 3 secretaries, one president and one vice president
@dai
The answer for the 4th question is option b i.e. 3
as
just check from the options
taking n=4
9c1+9c2+9c3+9c4>63
then taking n=3
7c1+9c2+9c3=63, hence proved.
No of ways the letters in MACHINE can be arranged so that vowels occupy only the odd positions.
a.3!x4! b.7P3x4! c. 7P4x3! d.None
Dude i belive the answer i s 3!*4!
as we have odd place 3rd, 5th, 7th
so we have 3!
and again we have 4 place which have to be felt with by 4 consonants that gives 4P4=4!
so we have 3!*4!

when one women and president=4C1*4C4*4C1*2(same for vice president)=32
when two women and president=4C2*4C3*2C1*3C1*2(same for vise president)=288
total=32+288=320???

430=7C4*3C3*3!=210
700=7C7*3!/2=3

Hi, can someone help me with Chapter 9: Time and Work: LOD 2 Pg. 274 Question 22.
It takes six days for three women and two men working together to complete a work. Three men would do the same work five days sooner than nine women. How many times does the output of a man exceed that of a woman?
Ans. 6 times.
Thanks!
1 man: x units per day
1 women: y units per day
2M+3W*6 days: 12x+18y units
days taken by 9 women to complete this work: (12x+18y)/9y
days taken by 3 men to complete this work: (12x+18y)/3x
therefore, (12x+18y)/9y= (12x+18y)/3x + 15
On solving, x= 6y
so man's output is 6 times women's output. therefore technically it should EXCEED by 5 units. 😲

1,3,5 and 7 are the odd places.
So no. of ways of arranging 3 vowels in these 4 places: 4P3
Remaining 4 can be arranged in 4! ways
therefore answer should be 4P3*4!
So according to me it should be NONE OF THESE.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

yes dude you are right . I made a mistake didn't take 1 as odd number 😞

Correct answer 4P3X4! = 4!X4! = 576.
A tank of litres capacity has been filled with water thru two pipes, the first pipe having been opened hours longer than the second. If the first pipe was opened as long as the second, and the second pipe was opened as long as the first pipe was open, then the first pipe would deliver half the amount of water delivered by the second pipe; if the two pipes were opened simultaneously, the tank would be filled up in 17 hours. How long was the second pipe open?
a. 10hrs
b. 12hrs
c. 15hrs
d. 18hrs
P.S. Is it possible to solve this question without solving the three equations that we are getting?
Remainder is coming out to be 9
So , when divided by 50, it equals 0.18
Answer should be d) 8
I hope i understood the question correctly..
Please correct me if i am wrong..
The remainder when 3^32 is divided by 50 would come out to be 41 and not 9.
Hence when divided by 50 the fractional part will be 0.82.
Therefore x should be 2....

2 trains start from the same point simultaneously and in the same direction.the first train travels at 40 kms/hr and the speed of the second train is 25% more than the speed of the first train. 30 minutes later a third train starts from the same point and in the same direction .it overtakes the second train 90 mins later it overtook the 1st train. what is the speed of 3rd train
sudipto296 Says2 trains start from the same point simultaneously and in the same direction.the first train travels at 40 kms/hr and the speed of the second train is 25% more than the speed of the first train. 30 minutes later a third train starts from the same point and in the same direction .it overtakes the second train 90 mins later it overtook the 1st train. what is the speed of 3rd train
The speed of the first train is 40 kph and the speed of the second train is 50 kph. Let the speed of the third train be v and let the time at which the third train overtakes the second train be t. After 30 mins First train would have traveled 20 km and the second train would have traveled 25 km. Therefore,
(v-40)t=20------(i)
(v-50)(t+3/2)=25........(ii)
Eliminating t from the equations-------> 25/(v-50) - 20/(v-40)=3/2
After solving, we would get v=60 kph Ans.
In a 4000 meter race around a circular track having a circumference 0f 1000 meters, the fastest runner and the slowest runner reach the same point at the end of the 5th minute, for the first time after the start of the race. All the runners have the same starting point and each runner maintains a uniform speed throughout the race. If the slowest runner runs at half the speed of the fastest runner, what is the time taken by the slowest runner to finish the race?
P.S.---> I am getting 20 min. but OA is 30 min. 😞
Hi puys/ pals...
One suggestion.. Don't go for the level 3 of Arun Sharma... I wasted my time on it..
In a survey among students at all the IIMs, it was found that 48% preferred coffee, 54% liked tea and 64% smoked. Of the total, 28% liked coffee and tea, 32% smoked and drank tea and 30% smoked and drank coffee. Only 6% did none of these. If the total number of students is 2000 then:
1. The ratio of the number of students who like only coffee to the number who like only tea is ?
2. The number of students who like coffee and smoking but not tea is ?
3. The percentage of those who like coffee or tea but not smoking among those who like at least one of these is ?
a. more than 30 b. Less than 30 c. Less than 25 d. None of these

A motorist leaves the post office to go to the airport to collect mail.The plane arrives early,and the mail is sent by cart.After half and hour,the motorist meets the horse cart ,collects the mail and returns to the post offcice thus saving 20 mins.How many minutes early did the plane arrive ?
I tried solving it but cudnt 😞 I think the speed of cart shud also be given..
please help if anyone of you gets the answer..
