Hi dude....:cheerio: nice xplaination ...but no need to consider the mops in this case? and how to approach when to find the number of days in which 8 people can clean 8 floors using 5 mops?
a^x=b^y=c^z Since x,y,z are in GP put any value x=1,y=2,z=4 a=b^2=c^4 c=2,b=4,a=16 fit To be in H.P 1/2-1/4 should be 1/4-1/16 but it's not ! My take would be 4. Any corrections are welcomed ! :)
Hey guys anyone got to say anything on this one? Should I presume that the answer given in Arun Sharma was wrong??:splat:
Nota at all warrior....i got the cyclic thing....what i wanna know is how does the power take the form of : '4n'?as you said right, lets take n=7....maybe it'l be great if you can take the example of say,3 and show so that i can see a pattern. Also how do i apply this to stuff like>> solve for unit digit:((173^45)*(152^77)*(777^999))
Hey one more problem: find remainder for :(54^124)/17
Hi dude....:cheerio: nice xplaination ...but no need to consider the mops in this case? and how to approach when to find the number of days in which 8 people can clean 8 floors using 5 mops?
trick is to put the unknown at the last...then just keep piling the knowns before it......unitary
Let me know if my answer is correct...the mop part does make it a little confusing but it works out the same way only....you have to keep in mind the factors which reduce or increase work....as in if no. of people go down, work takes longer no. of days,so you multiply, but at the same time if floors decrease, the work time is also decreased, so you divide..... i Hope this is a decent enough explanation....:)
If 10 people can clean 10 floors by 10 mops in 10 days. In how many days can 8 people clean 8 floors by 8 mops?
I am getting the answer as 8........but it is given as 10...;)
cheers.....!
Hey let me try to explain this :
Say 10 people are put up in each floor and they are working individually to do their assigned floor.. Each person completes a small part of the floor everyday. say he completes 10%. Hence in 10 days he would complete the whole work(assumed 100%) and so would all other 10 people in each floor.
Now the question. we have only 8 people, but 8 floors in this case.
each person does 10% of the work everyday. in 8 days 80% done,. Remaining in 2 other days.. 10 days to complete the full work,, hence 10 days.. (you have to assume a percentage of work in the given statement; try to assume units of work(100 usually) and solve sums)
P.S : you can assume man days too which would work out simpler..
