hey puys !
i wanted some suggestions from all of you guys...shud i be practising questions keeping the time factor in mind...im aware of the fact tht time is of essence in quant but if im attempting all questions of LOD 1 n 2 so shud i keep the ticking of clock in mind or not !!
All suggestions are welcome...

if ur preparing for CAT 2011..then dont care for the time right now...as ur focus should be on clearing concepts...

take as much time as u want for doing LOD 1 ,2 or 3...

but start taking care of time limit from the month of May...

Puys,dont u think questions of numbers systems r too easy and too less in Arun Sharma?

i want to do more questions but dont know whre to find them...

pls tell me names of some other books for Quant.

pls be kind to reply guys...

Rem of 51^203 / 7 is same as rem 2^203 /7 as rem 51/7 is 2.
Now rem of successive powers of 2 when divided by 7 are 2,4,1,2,4,1 n so on. The 203 rd term is 4 so rem is 4

The answer according to me is Rs. 21578.56. It can be found using the sum of GP:

1000(1.05^14+1.05^13+........+1.05^1+1.05^0)

If from the digits 19, five distinct digits are used to form a pair of numbers, using all five digits exactly once; how many such pairs of numbers can be made?

Doin these sort of qs. it's best to approach with trial n error and a bit of logic.. You can forget about 200s-900s considering the ratio to be minimum... and to make the ratio least, you should definitely have a 9 in the units digit.. now, just do a check on 109, 199 which are the 2 extremes in this case.. So, your answer should be 199..

1) 8

2) 0

3) None of these

OOPS, sorry.. missed out the word "highest" for the 3rd qs..

Highest is for nos. which will have 0's in units and tens.. 100, 200, 300...,900

Hence, a total of 9 nos..

A sum of RS 36.90 is made up of 90 coins that are either 20p coins or 50p coins.Find out how many 20 paise coins are there in the total amount?..(a)47 (b)43 (c)27 (d)63 (e)70........pls do show the entire process

let 20 p coins be x and 50 p coins be y

then according to ques
20x + 50y = 3690 (1)
x + y = 90 (2)

solving these 2 ques we get
x=27
y=63

so ans is 27
