And Being Inzanely different, we wanted a different name for our group too..
came up with long list..

elysian & utopia means very much same - dreamland, heavenly place..( for rest look up ur dictionary)

we need to close in on a name before Friday, so vote quickly!
Voted for Maitri.
One reason is that I'd suggested it. Other is that I've heard of NGOs or volunteer groups with the rest of the names, except Seangermaal, which, for me, seemed to be a mouthful.
Will miss the presentation, but those who're there, do point out to the people that it'll be possible to hold meditation courses for kids... I'll get the details in public as soon as I get hold of htem myself.

Nice to see the initiative. Just today I had a chat with Govi about Pune CS. Well, could u enlighten us on the kind of CS activity u planning to start with. I believe talks are underway for the say, but a broad view of the same would be gr8 and help in voting for the Name.
On second thoughts, y the limitation to vote, let peepz come out with names they feel appropriate and then the Pune CS wing members decide!

Like sonika and nikhilkulk have mentioned, the decision give a name to this group has come up because:
1. The activities that are being planned on this thread http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/touchi...in-pune-7.html (Community Services In Pune)
2. While we were in the process of speaking to NGOs, most of them wanted to know what we were called/going to be called. Since we dont propose to limit CS activity here, to only PG members, or only IT folks , etc etc, we saw the need to come up with a more broad banner that would encompass the activities that we plan to undertake.
On second thoughts, y the limitation to vote, let peepz come out with names they feel appropriate and then the Pune CS wing members decide! :smile:
Well.. coz PG poll offers only 10 options..
N we had posted on Pune CS thread about coming up with names.. From thr we picked up 10 most popular names n started the thread..
Public Voting coz its people's effort which in long run will sustain this initiative.. so lettin them decide here

Ya man...the name I second ur proposal..why restrict to the list above.....PG names have always been crazy..insane......so let it be that way....

The Pune CS group had a meeting where a lot of names were thrown up by the people present there, and amongst them, a few were shortlisted. We also had a few people suggesting names on the CS thread. We see the need to shortlist a name for ourselves, and thought the poll was the quickest and most democratic way to go about doing it.
How about joining us at our CS meetings since you are in Pune, to better understand what we are trying to do?

Well... one name that comes to my mind is 'Jankhna' - Jan-kh-na. Means *Wish* in Gujarati. I loved the pronounciation, the syllables! Also, a relevant French word could be looked upon.
Amongst the choices, 'Prayatna' sounds good! Again by meaning is apt!

I see many votes for Prayatna..the word literally means 'TRY'/'TRIAL'..It no doubt is clear and concise and sounds good but then it just means an attempt..not very complete in itself I think...This was the point I had raised at our last meet..n I guess since there were a lot of takers for 'Ehsaas' I guess no body gave a lot of thought to that..
I seriously feel 'Ehsaas' is a far better option than 'Prayatna', though my first vote wud be for 'Patang'.
