All the best.

@DestinationIIM's - Good thread :thumbsup:

I guess we can have some FRM or Fin experts post here and let us know the diff as well as the aspects of PRM ....
Post the query abt comparison on the FRM thread given by rmbt and give the link to this thread for ref.

@rmbt - PRM is a diff exam and so i think a new thread shd be ok for it ..

Hi

I've gone through the detail on PRM website and have decided to register. I've got the Handbook for preparation too.

Anyone who has taken the exam please update.

As i see, there is only one exam test centre in India at Mysore! Is that right?
I'm from Bangalore.

Bye

PS: saxson101, i've sent you a personal message. plz check you Inbox on pagalguy.

general gyaan on PRM

1) lots of centres in india. In fact atleast 10 in delhi alone

2) no restriction on PRM

3) Not much useful if u're interested in Ibanking front office

4) Very useful if u want to go into risk mgmt/middle office

5) NONE of the recruiters at my b school knew wat was PRM abt

6) FRM is a bit more recognised

7) Have taken only exams 1 & 2 so can only tell u abt them - easy

exam 3 seems tough

9) NOT a subsitute for CFA

Hi... Thanks for your inputs.

How thorough do we need to be with complex formula's in the PRM handbook for exam 2. Like Lognormal distributions, variance in each case etc.

What kind of questions should i expect. I'm going to take exam II soon.

Hi Bhaiyyu,

I have scheduled my PRM test 2 this monday.
can you tell us about the type of questions asked ?
also I am only studying the hand book provided by PRMIA.
will it be sufficient to clear the exam ?

KK

Hey KK, Bhaiyyu and others on this thread,

I am looking for some help re info on PRM and its prep. Quite specifically my questions are mentioned below. Any help would be real gold guys, please if you can throw some light...

1. Any institution in Delhi that offers training/coaching on PRM (or CFA)?
2. Can you please suggest if the suggested book - essentials of risk management - is sufficient for clearing all the exams for PRM certification? In other words, if you can recommend some good readings - mandatory or optional.
3. Appropriate time frame for attempting the certification. I do have basic financial and accounting knowledge though.

Thanks a bunch in advance!
