Pragati is the National-level B-Fest hosted by Amrita School of Business every year. The B-Fest comprises of management games crafted for each domain of business administration including Marketing, Finance, Operations, HR and Systems. And year-on-year Pragati has proven its mettle by attracting talents from many leading institutes of management in our country, to challenge each other across all domains and aim at achieving the overall championship award.

This year the participation strength is expected to exceed 700 from 50+ business schools. The key factor for our steady and growing success is the immersive engagement of our games. The management games are crafted with inputs from faculty members who have come here from world-class institutions including Berkeley, Cornell, Kellogg's, Stern and IIMs.

The uniqueness in the ideation and execution of the games has garnered praise from many Chief Executives including the Chief of IBM, India.

Pragati '14 Theme : Business Beyond Profits

“The Social Responsibility of Business”, said the Nobel laureate Milton Friedman “is to increase its profits”. Friedman had put forth this argument in 1970 and times have clearly changed. As industries and companies are increasingly under the limelight of accountability, social responsibility is the new and only way to do business.

Many firms have clearly realized that imbibing values such as integrity, self-regulation, environmentalism and societal-concern can lead to a manifold impact. It can improve the bottom line, public reputation, worker satisfaction and unleash a wave of innovation and growth. The shift in perspective that “doing good” can mean doing well is becoming ever more evident by the day.

Thought leaders such as Michael Porter and Mark Kramer are championing concepts such as “Shared Value”, as an effect of this business evolution. Social responsibility anymore has become a strategic direction.

As businesses think “Smarter Planet”, “Shared Planet” and “Ecomagination”, are you a part of the purpose-driven future businesses? This is the question we put forth in Pragati 2014. We challenge management students all across India to see if they are not just profit-makers but problem-solvers. Pragati 2014 offers a compelling platform to see if future leaders can walk the talk, creating positive impact in the world through propelling “Business Beyond Profits”.
