I have applied to a few universities in New Zealand such as Auckland Uni of Technology, Massey & Waikato for Postgraduate Diploma in Business with Majors in Finance. I would like your help in deciding which to choose from the above or are there any better options. My main objective is to secure a good job in the field of Finance after Post Grads. I would not like to go to US or UK as the economy is very bad out there. Eagerly looking forward for your help in this regard.....

Is it any better in New Zealand?
I thought New Zealand's economy has been stagnant for several years and most New Zealanders tend to look for jobs in Australia?
Have you checked out the possibility if getting jobs, work permits, immigration procedures?

If you have information on these, it will be useful if you can share this with other PGs also.

Ya i have found out about the work permits & immigration requrements and it is much easier compared to Australia. I too was thinking about Australia but then the Visa requirements are very stringent and above all you wont get any Work Permit after your course if your course is less than 2 yrs. So I had to drop the idea and the courses in New Zealand is 1/3 the cost that I would have incurred in Australia.

Actually that's my main concern. I heard there are opportunities in the Finance Sector over there and I can get a decent job.But honestly I dont have much info about this. I wanted someone who is in NZ could give me a better idea on this. Looking for someone who could guide me better......................

Dude right now the entire world is facing the effects of the recession. Aus n NZ are least effected by this recession. I have found out n Aus is really really expensive n the expenses of NZ is really low compared to any other cuntry incl. AUS.NZ fees = 5 lacs INR(20000 NZD); AUS fees=15 lacs INR (45000 AUD). In AUS u have to study for atleast 2 yrs to be eligible for a visa while even if u study 1 yr in NZ u r eligible for a 1yr. visa atleast.

Recession has affected every country ... Let that be India or the some country in Africa..... So the Kiwi people are no exception to it. NZ is a quite place where a person would not find an racisim , you work , enjoy your life and relax... A simple example would be ( Being a cricket Fan) How many Cricket players are there from Australia or for that matter any other country.... That is not the case in NZ. they give you opportunities....
Peace full country.... NZ can be considered as option if you plan to settle for good in NZ ... But if you want to come back to India that i think it's a waste of time and money....

After you complete 1 year of education from NZ you are entitled for 1 year of work Permit which can be easily converted to PR after you get a Job....

I know recession has effected each and every country. But no a comparative basis NZ is least hit. Anyways I know the degree in NZ wont do me much good in India. I am planning to study n then work over there for a few yrs. To get PR over there is much easier so thats one of my main reasons of going there. I was hoping if you could tell me which Uni to choose so that my Job Prospects might increase...

University of Auckland
University of OTAGO
University of Waikato

Just check if the University is offering the course that you are looking for the fees and all....

Vishal even my 1st preference was Uni of Auckland but the Finance Course which they offered was suspended in 2007. However, I have applied to Uni Of Waikato & AUT(Auckland Uni of Technology). I have heard that AUT is equally good when compared to Uni Of Auckland. If u could tell me which one of them will serve my purpose better when it comes to securing a job after the course. Do you anyone currently living in NZ?

I am a graduate from Delhi University, just completed my honours in Economics. I have offer letters for two courses, 'MA Financial Management' from Durham University and 'MSc Economics and Financial Economics' from Nottingham University.
Kindly suggest which course and university I should go for in terms of job prospects and market value?

Hi,
that is all good, but what matters is if we get a ood job after completing post graduation from there.. I went to some consultancies to find out what exactly is there. They were not assuring me if I will get a ood job after compleing PG from Newzeland.
Also, I have heard that there is shotae of pat time jobs there as they are getting experienced workers in the same amount.

I really dont think that i can crack CAT and get a good college here.. Thats y I m planning to go to Newzeland which not only is providing a good oppurtunity to complete MBA bt also saving my 1 year..But at the end of the day, it comes to what package is it providing.. Plz help..
