Hi Everyone,

This is to all the B-School aspirants for 2009 and all the ones admitted in 2007,2008. I am interested to know how the impending recession (US and possibly Global) is affecting post MBA opportunities. A bunch of articles on the subject can be found below.

I would be especially interested to know from the people looking for careers in financial services.

Thanks,

Kunal

Hi Kunal

The way it works with big companies is that they realize that recruits now would take on bigger roles in their organizations 2-5 years from now and onwards. So letting up on key recruiting now would hurt them later.

That said, some students, particularly international students and the financial sector, have had some issues off late in internships and to a smaller extent full time recruitment. However that varies from school to school. I guess everybody was getting used to plucking jobs from anywhere and everywhere over the past few years and that has stopped now. So you work smarter and harder in your job search and you still get your 2nd choice, if not the 1st.

In any case by the time you graduate you will be out of the rut :D

Cheers

Kunal
