Thanks for your reply mate. I don't really want to wait a year as I could spend that time working provided I have a job. I tried to e-mail a few HR people in Indian MNC's/companies but they didn't reply. Which B school in India could you compare the LSE MSc A+F to? I know they are different degrees but on prestige level (as seen by employers) where would LSE place in India in Finance?
Thank you
Buddy,
HRs in India atleast, don't reply to random mails . To get some significant response from them , either you should have someone to forward your CV within the company or some other source who can bring in light your resume to company personnel. Otherwise, you have to wait for official openings for the company to be announced.
So , i would suggest not to conclude anything from getting no replies to the mails sent to HR people directly. Instead, try to get in touch with people who have similar profiles using social networks like linkedin , facebook etc and then see how to take the things forward as per your interests.
Anyways , going for a job this year and attempting for B-Schools in upcoming exam season is a good choice

Hey Varun
Thanks for your reply. I think you miinterpreted what I said - I meant I would rather do my MSc and work for a year instead of preparing for MBA. I know it is a stupid question and do tell me if it is, but on what level would that LSE degree be placed in India? I am internin in Deloitte in India at the moment and my Boss (who is on a secondment from london, so might not know the job market well in India) said LSE is "good" and left it at that. Do shed some gyan.

I am an IT engineer.I am having 1 and a half year experience in testing in Financial services domain. I would like to do a career in testing/QA(want to become a QA manager in a good company).
I want to know how should I shape my career from now on to become a QA manager effectively and quickly.Already 24 years old.
Can a MBA in Finance help me achieving this? Or only systems/IT MBA help me with this?
Also want to know whether doing MBA from a good college can give me placement in such kind of role.If yes can it be any Finance or only Systems/It.
Being a BE IT,would prefer a MBA in systems/It but only in Mumbai. Are there any good colleges for MBA in systems/It in Mumbai.
In Mumbai only Finance MBA is comman.Dont know whether this will help me becoming QA manager. Also,if possible, dont want to change my line to Finance.
But if Finance MBA can give placements in IT companies in such kind of role then ok with me
Plz all I need your expert and proper response to my queries. Am confused a lot. Some say even MBA is not required just keep on giving testing certifications ISTQB,CSTE etc.some say just Part time MBA(are there any good part time MBA colleges in Systems in Mumbai?)
Plz give your suggestions so that I can decide for next CAT,CET. Thanks a lot.
hi, i am currently studying in final year, mechanical engg@ NIT Allahabad. I want to go for an MBA in the future. Could ne1 guide me as to which of the two sectors-PSU(IOCL,NTPC,BHEL,GAIL,ONGC etc) and IT(TCS,Infy etc) would be better to join from college campus placement (keeping in mind future MBA prep while working in one of the two sectors???

Hey guys .I had trying hard to get a gud college frm last 3yrs. Nmims ,welgkr.Intw coudnt convrt. Nw gt eabs pune europe asia , wat u thk abt the collge is it gud. Also on persnaly, i am bloomed by negatve thoughts , i have gt phobia of public. Wat should i do.
EABS, is a decent college. It provides 1 Year PGP in Business Transformation.Zensar is the mother company so absorbs most of the intakes.90% of the crowd in EABS has workex .The negative points are the campus infrastructure and the fees. The fees is more than 7 lks for a year !

If you do not have any liabilities then I will suggest you to concentrate on CAT and bell the CAT with a 99+ percentile. Its not necessary to work and prepare for CAT.
Teaching is a decent job.You get a lot of time in college as well.Depends on how you schedule your day.Incase you find it difficult to adjust ,I would suggest you to quit.
The gap of 1 year can always be justified. You being an fresher can always take the librty to take a gap and prepare.

Please help me out. I guess i am looking for too many options at this time but I do not know what i have to do but I think that this is the point where I can actually decide which way i want to take my career. I'm physically handicapped and currently working in TCS for the past 1.5yrs. i'm confused as to which PG course to go for. i'm from ECE background and been working in IT field. So will it be worth if I go for Mtech from any of the good institutes in the country. Also, how are the placements in IITs for Mtech students ? I'm not very much interested in doing MBA but looking at the current scenario (placements and no. of good colleges) also gave a thought of doing it. I'm planning to take Finance stream if I go for MBA. Can you please let me know the prospects in this field and also the likely work profile I can get? As i'm physcially handicapped, will it create any issue during the placement process? I'm very confused and looking forward to your useful responses.
Hey Puyzz!!I'm an Engineering Graduate with pretty decent acads. I'm working in a Pharmaceutical Plant for last 10 months (+3 months at R&D;+Corporate). I've been facing a lot of medical problems since I've been here. It is affecting my preparation and also I'm not able to give my 100% at work(+job satisfaction is also not there). Do ya think it'll be a good option to quit and concentrate fully on MBA entrances?I'm confident about good percentiles, my only worry is how to justify the job gap, I mean wud medical problems count for?I've got some responses but would really appreciate some more as I've got to decide fast.
hey guys..can u pls tell me whch s de most lucrative mba stream in today s times?n scope of brand management in india n abroad.n some gud b schools offerin dis course .

Since the problems are medical and not just related to office boredom, I would advise you to quit and concentrate fully on MBA entrances so that your performances in these tests are not hampered.

You're surely dabbling into a lot of things but I think it can be managed. You can join either of the companies whichever you deem fit, both are pretty good. Once you join a company, decide what you want to attempt first. You have to take a call on that, whether it's going to be MBA or IAS, no matter how difficult the decision. Suppose you decide IAS, then you should prepare very well for it as long as you feel it's appropriate. If unfortunately you don't get through IAS, then keep MBA as a backup option.
Of course, your choice could be the other way round too, MBA and then IAS. Was just taking an example. I think such a course of action should be good for you.

First of all you need to decide whether IAS /MBA because these two are completely different domains.
Incase you opt for MBA ----------------------- If you can handle your job and MBA prep together then I would suggest you to give it a try.Infosys and IBM both have their pros and cons.I would have chosen Infy whereas many wud chose IBM.
Incase you opt for IAS ----------------------
You cannot prepare for IAS along with job.Its very difficult. If you are confident and ready to sacrifice atleast 1 year then go for this option.
can u elaborate upon pros and cones of infy and ibm .in infy they are providing us training for 7 months and if i want to prepare, i guess ibm wll be better....M i not correct in saying thiss ??
