i got recruited in TCS this september. I have a pending back in 7th semester which i hope to clear in special papers in abt oct first week....bt there's still no confirmation abt d special papers and i'm afraid if joining comes b4 the result of my specials.....can anyone please help me?? wat abt the minimum time after the result of recruitment to joining!!

I have been recuited On Campus By Infosys in January 2010. I have got Infosys joining date 13-Dec-2010. But I have also been selected by TCS in their Off Campus Drive. They have given me Offer Letter but their Joining Letter is yet to come. I am a Non CS/IT student and don't know much about Computer Languages . I am having great confusion as I have no idea to join which company. I want to know Which is better Company out of two for me? Which Company will provide me better work atmosphere and job security? Also, I am looking to pursue MBA after 2-3 years Work Experience. So which company is better to join? Please help me with your suggestions. I am looking forward to your responses. Thanks in advance.

I would ike to point out that Infy training is quite hectic compared to the TCS ILP.

Hello Friends,

There are two phase of TCS Off Campus Selection- Written and Interview.
1. Written- 35 questions will be there which you will have to do in 60 minutes. These questions are puerly based on Quantative Aptitude. Negative marking is also there . Questions are generally long and consumes your time in reading them. But the initial lines in questions is of no use and the main data will be in last lines. So, try to read questions as fast as possible. You'll clear written in 20-25 right questions. Go to Freshers Jobs Placement Papers | Career Networking Freshersworld.com if you want to see some sample questions and practice them hard because you will get 4-5 question ditto from there.

2-Interview- It has three rounds-
A)Technical Round- It will contain questions from basic C and programming. Concepts should be clear. For Non CS/IT students, they can ask from your project also and there will be less questions of programming. This round can take 5 mins or even 45 mins. So, it all depends on Interviewer.
B)Managerial Round- It will contain questions like HR interview and they can also ask some managerial strategies asking you some situations.They can even ask you some Current Affairs. Be clear and specific in your answers.
C)HR Round- This is final round and it will decide your fate. Generally this round is formality if you have done well in previous rounds. Questions will be simply related to yo and your background. You will be tested on your Communication Skills. They can even conduct a Group Discussion instead of HR Round. Be ready for it.

Note- You have to clear Written Round to reach Interview process. You have to clear Technical Round to enter into Managerial Round, and Managerial Round to enter HR Round. Its a step by step selection.

TCS is going to conduct Off Campus Selection Process during Oct-Dec 2010. If you have applied on their website, you'll be definitely called for the process. All the best. Looking forward ro see you in TCS. 😃

ExpressIndia survey feels that TCS is best employer only because it has maximum number of employees in India. But is quantity is a measure of QUALITY?
I dont think so..
TCS does not even place in the top 1000. As a former employee of TCS i can say that TCS does not treat its employees with an iota of fairness, also they are not even accorded the basic common respect that one would give a houseworker. The employees are under paid and overworked.
I made more than Rs.2 Lakhs everyday for TCS. I was paid 3.15 p.a.(compared to more than Rs. 520 lakhs which I made for TCS). Not saying that I deserve all the money. But after 2 yrs of working in the company, TCS gave an increment of Rs. 5 only to the employees at entry level. More than money, it was the disrespect that TCS showed to its employees by giving a raise of Rs. 5, which was like a slap in the face.
Additionally the company not even has a good reputation among the companies in India.
Think twice before you join TCS..!!!!!!!!!
Join TCS if you want to spoil your future.
Go for MBA at a premier institute.

I don't agree at all with what this dude here says.
Each company has it's up's n downs.

N To be frank , the work culture totally depends on the project you are in. So if u r lucky u get an awesome atmosphere to wrk , or if u r unlucky u mite end up doing shoddy wrk !!!

N as far as pay is concerned , let me tell u for a fact , I joined TCS in 2006 with a pay of 2.04.
N after a year , the pay I got at TCS (3.86) was higher than those given by assumed reputed companies (Infy, IBM etc).

And if pay is what motivates you , almost all IT companies have the same policy , where pay hikes wont be too great to be frank unless u r in a product based company.

I would like to end my case by saying TCS is as good as the Infy's, IBM's n Accenture's of the world !!

Mahindra Satyam is also a good company but TCS is better (Purely my opinion) but Waiting time is more in TCS. TCS is a bigger company than Mahindra Satyam so in order to look unique you have to virtually out perform huge set of people which is difficult. And Satyam is developing again fast.So be careful before taking a decision.

If you are lucky, you can indeed get a good project , a good mentor in any company be it TCS ya Mahindra Satyam.

CAn some senior in TCS answer me that whether is it possible to take leave or miss the ilp for just 1 day under any circuminstances.Actually my joininng gt rescheduled a week before CAT in another city from my ILP center 2000kms apart(on 7th Nov.) and so writing CAT seems impossible without a leave for one day.Some one can plz help me as me really messed up .

AUSTIN you ca take three days of leave at TCS ILP. But they are emergency leave so better get ready with some nice reason and take leave. But dont disclose CAT reasons to the people it may affect u in carrier.

Dont worry . . u will get both offer and joining letter soon. . Normally people wont reply for your mail so its waste to send a mail . . tcs always calls people late. . U will get offer but late. . meanwhile if you want to join any other job try other companies(as TCS will call u a bit late)
