One word substitution.

Q :- One who is unaffected or indifferent to joy, pain, pleasure or grief.

Q :- One who is unaffected or indifferent to joy, pain, pleasure or grief.

Question from SSC CGL-2013 (21Apr).
Please note that Stoic means (As per Oxford) :-

" a person who can endure pain or hardship without showing their feelings or complaining."

Doubt :- Why can't passive be the right answer because it is more apt as stoic is related with hardships only, Whereas passive is one who is unaffected or inert to any kind of situation, be it joy or pain, etc.

Please suggest.
