d.What is the weightage of the interview in the total selection process?(fifty marks/hundred marks??)
e.Seniors please help us by sharing your experience..

what is third party insurance?

dude my intervw is on 10 sept. in delhi , Iam from engng. background & I dont have any idea about insurance interview . upar se mera to merit me number bhi 1122 in I category hai & I think it is very low .

Hi Guys! i have my interview scheduled on 27th august in chennai morning slot! anyone else having on the same day?

@ bab11-- Third party insurance is in motor insurance. when we take a motor policy we have 2 insurances, one in, Own damage (OD) and the other is TP i.e. third party insurance. as per the moror vehicle act Third party insurance is compulsory fr every vehicle. now what is third party, for example if ur vehicle meets with an accident, there cud be 2 possibilities, 1, either u damage ur own vehicle/ ur own self or 2, u damage someone else's vehicle, or someother property, this 'someother' is the third party. and in this case of accident ur insurance company wud pay fr the expenses incurred for the third party damages.

I hope this helps!

@TRIVIA--could you please suggest me some insurance terms that are relevant in the present context?

There is IRDA website(and other websites), and there is information, but i am confused as to what to read and what to not..and even if it is good to read as much as one can..then i would like to know your way..it will be helpful..

i think it's roll number-wise..or its other way around? could you pls elaborate?

@ bab111- yaar..if u can read a lot! dude nothing like it..but i'll suggest read only as much as ur mind can accommodate..we at times end up reading so much that we end up so confused and exhausted that we don't even remember 25% of what we had read..it happens with me a lot.

as far as insurance terminologies are concerned i guess they shud not expect much frm us as in technicalities. but ya things like reinsurance, claims, difference between health and life insurance, IRDA Act kab form hua tha, 1938 that is. how many companies, general and life are there, FDI limit etc. This is my line of preparation and ya are u fr specialist or gernalist. this will also matter..specialist me specialisation related questions and fr gernalist we shud also brush up on our Grad/post-grad subjects.

Guys add on if there are topics i have missed and if u can think of somthing else!

@trivia-..thanks for the input..are you for generalists? moreover, is it going to be a PO like interview? just asking yar..any idea of the job(generalists)?any friend or relative working in the insurance sector..just to get the valuable input..

@bab111- ya..m

fr generalist...u? nahi yaar no idea as such..

thanks a lot @[161162:TRIVIA].....that was helpful..please keep updating ....i am in specalist category computers....what questions can i expect....

..TRIVIA.for generalist

ets start with simple a simple question--introduce yourself

this is because we all are holding ourselves from coming out openly n discussing stuffs which are simple and yet we are not satisfied when asked to inside the interview room? atleast this is the case with me. so guys please help me.
and then we will be helping ourselves by knowing the crowd that is..

@[508773:blinkdagger]-- for specialists i think u have to be thorough with ur specialisation and if u hav any work ex, thn they'll ask us on that fr sure. and ofcorse the basics like abt urself and all!

heyyy trivia, tell me frankly what should i know about myself. i am a stupid/moron student.please..

premise for the above post is that academic and other personal details are already in the bio-data sheet.and somewhere in the interview thread i read that we should not be repeating all these things in the tell me about urself question...so suppose they ask me the same question then where to begin from, my friends?

let's answer this question-why you want to join OICL?
@[161162:TRIVIA],please share your expertise

@[599948:bab111]--look yaar to begin with..nobdy here or anywhere is stupid /moron or wateve..we are in a similar state of mind...so relax! all of us are facing the same queries and doubts.

regarding question on introducing ourselves..I'll say we can't start without our name..can we? yes it is very well in the bio data sheet but this is the very identity we have. But yes i agree that we shud not waste time is only repeating waht we hav already mentioned. But, i feel we can be mention it briefly, like My name is....m from..have done my MBA/M.tech...and now after mentioning it very briefly, come to ur USP..if u ahve some hobby, done somthing worth mentioning work ex or anything u can think of. and THINK of it clearly becoz if u can draw them to ur comfort zone thn it mite save u frm the technical questions on ur academics or insurance, becoz thy'll ahv only 15-20 mnts at the most..if we can draw them towards our comfort zone and keep thm thr.. it'll keep us safe.
