XL HRM vs XL BM(Jhajjar)
While there has been a lot of discussions around this hot topic, I won't add anything further as it's completely a person choice and a matter of interest. But what I've come across is a few people glorifying the new campus with mere speculations and utmost optimism(i wonder why!?) without even mentioning the downsides of it. It is morally right for future HRs to present just one side of the story? And for what reasons? I, on the other hand, have a few concerns regarding the new campus and my own scepticism which might be common with a few of you, and for others, do give it a thought while you're at it.
A> A brand new campus. XLRI has created a reputation for itself just on the back of a single standalone college, i.e, XLRI Jamshedpur. Its for the first time that it's branching out and will be the first time that the management will be running two institutions simultaneously. Had they have done this before as well, we could've had the data to analyse and take an informed decision without being sceptical so much so. While the heart wants to believe that itll be no lesser than the old campus but the brain seeks out for facts and figures(which isn't there yet). Just expecting a bit too much, a bit too early!
B> Let's talk Alumni Base. It won't flourish straight away and be as cohesive and the Jamshedpur one will sure be stronger for a few years to come. Period. On top of that, there won't be any seniors around when we join in, as we'll be the first batch. So no interaction there. And people from the same campus share this nostalgia and stories which connects to an emotional level.
C> Investment. If it's anywhere closer to the level of Jamshedpur(which in itself is HUGE), Im not sure if that'll be a good financial investment with similar returns(mostly for people going for educational loans). And the economic condition is such, that no one can predict for sure what'll happen two years down the line(better or worse). So, it'll be a HUGE GAMBLE to say the least.
D> Management- XLRI management doesnt have any prior experience of running two campuses simultaneously at par with each other whichll give us the faith and not blindly trust the BRAND NAME just for the sake of it. Im not saying things will for sure go downhill but WHAT IF? The management will still have future batches to rectify mistakes(if any) and make changes but we only get one shot at MBA.
E> BRAND NAME- We're all banking on this and hopeful that XL wouldn't be diluting it's image it has created for itself over the decades and of course the management will take necessary steps to keep the sanctity of the name alive. But what we gotta understand is the value of a Brand is only what the people make out of it. So, if we as students are being sceptical about it, won't the companies too? Nothing guarantees success(high percentiler rejects will know better), but the issue here is the huge debt it'll add up to in the next two years.
XAT Decision Making ain't over my friends. And remember, while we all were pretty confident of our answers coming right out of the exam hall, the results came out pretty different for most of us, eh.
As they say, HOPE FOR THE BEST BUT SURE AS HELL, PREPARE FOR THE WORST!
Does anybody know how much the overlap between IIM ABC and XL this time is (rough estimate)? Just trying to gauge the waitlist movement for BM considering IIM Lucknow results are out now. Feeling super anxious :(

When will the 2020-22 session begin? Tentative dates anyone
@Adcom, I have submitted the required amount for waitlist movement yesteday, but the result page still shows "not received".
Also I have mailed my payment proof to [email protected].
I did my transaction yesterday and updated the details on the portal the day itself.
Please help!!
Can anyone clarify when the second WL of HRM might be released? And how far down can we expect the movement?
P.S. I might have missed any previous posts concerning this, so any re-clarification would be helpful.

If I may trouble my respected seniors and peers for guiding me once again. Based on considered recommendations of you all wonderful ppl and having deliberated myself ,have concluded that I will join XLRI BM and put in my request for withdrawal from iim k, iim I and iim S as in haste had deposited acceptance fee everywhere without being conscious of the fact how much avoidable financial stress i have put on my dear parents. . My further query is if I get selected in FMS also , other than financial angle does the case merit to leave xlri BM and join FMS. Earnest request pl guide me as done earlier with justification so that a dumbo like me is able to comprehend easily. . Wishing all success in all your endeavours and thanking you all in advance for bearing with my basic doubts.interested in Marketing . Regards
How big is the difference between the median packages of BM and HRM? Although the combined placement reports are available, a little clarity regarding the gap between the two would be hugely appreciated.
I am constantly being told by my relatives and teachers that HR professionals don't earn as much as their counterparts in marketing or finance.

Hi XL seniors I needed some advice, I paid the acceptance fee but due to some miscommunication filled wrong transaction ID online. However, I mailed the admissions office the requisite documents and proofs of the transaction stating my mistake on the portal. Would it be sufficient to cover the issue. Thanks for the help.
Hey guys, The SBI XLRI branch is flooded with loan requests right now. So as not to put all your eggs in one basket, you can consider Central Bank of India too and here is why: 1. They cleared my loan in a day 2. Interest % is the least @ 6.85 3. The branch is only 1 km from xlri gate. Cherry points: The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
