Campus Diaries #6
Is there a domicile quota in XIMB? If yes, how much?
Greetings from Xavier University, Bhubaneswar!
Taking a look at some of the in campus facilities.
The university is a residential campus requiring students, with academic and extra-curricular activities going around the clock.
The hostels available are on a single or double occupancy basis, with separate residential blocks for gents and ladies with all essential amenities. There is a state of the art 24-hour Internet facility on the campus.
The mess is managed by a students’ committee, serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. The campus also has different eateries and snack outlets. The night mess is a savior for students burning the midnight oil.
There is an in-campus dispensary equipped with full-time nurses and scheduled doctor visits. An ambulance is available 24×7 for any emergency.
Security in the campus is a top priority, guarded and monitored by CCTV at different strategic points, along with an efficient team of security personnel in the campus ensures all activities to be monitored.

I have selected multiple options as part of the admission process for a particular college/course offered by XUB like as I've written NMAT I selected NMAT as an option and will be writing XGMT too so i selected both, now I'm thinking to give Retake for NMAT which will be in January but the admissions will be closed by that time. So, Will you consider my best NMAT score? As I've already shared my NMAT I'd with as one option for the admission.
What's the total fees for MBA BM including hostel and mess charge?
Till when can we update our gmat scores for ximb process?
My final year DGPA (DEGREE GRADE POINT AVERAGE) stands at 6.29.My university specifically does not mention how much does this marks translate to when converted in percentage, the only information provided is 6.25 DGPA guarantees a minimum of 55 percent.Since no other information is present , in the percentage section of graduation i have entered 58 percent of marks. I have attached the screenshot of DGPA to percentage conversion information present on the official website of the concerned university. I was confused regarding the marks I should have filled while filling up the form due to the lack of clear information .It would be very kind of you if someone could guide me regarding this .If selected for further rounds will i get another form to fill up my marks, so that i could change my marks from 58 , if it is wrong
Greetings from XUB!

MOST IMPORTANT for MBA Aspirants!!!!!!
After seeing the dearth of genuine information available I thought of writing for all the future MBA Aspirants. I am currently working in a top consulting firm from past 3 years. Did my MBA from one of the TOP IIMs.
Students have no choice but to follow whatever misguiding or misleading information available. Fortunately I had someone at home who can guide me and tell me about the exact positioning of college ranking as per industries point of view, career progressions in long run, brand recognition internationally etc which are never talked of.
1)IIM C ( Leading)/ IIM B ( Location advantage and peer learning)
2)IIM A ( A brand )/ ISB ( future of MBA in India) / SPJIMR ( Good Peer learning) /IIM L / IIM I
3) FMS/ MDI/ IIMK/ IIT Mumbai/ IIFT D/NITIE/ IIM SHILLONG
4) IIM Trichy / SIBM / XLRI/ NMIMS/ IIFT K/JBIMS
*Special mentions ( less available information)*
Now the people from IITs/ Premier institutes should target 1) and if they don't get it they should try for PGDBA IIMC+IITK+ISI ( Excellent program with expertise of three top institutions).
Option for 2) can be prepare for next year ( giving next year is valid for people less than 3-4 yrs of experience) or Give GMAT and try for foreign University ( which gives immense exposure realised after working)
For option 3)&4) the students if want to do MBA this year anyhow then check-out the data analytics MBA from few IIMs or check out Great Lakes/ Goa Institute/ IFIM Banglore Data analytics program ( Since data is the next boom).
*Suggestion to students who are very ambitious in life and want to achieve the best go for PGDBA/ IIMC/IIMB/ISB/IIMA and nothing less.
*
Any college except these is not recommended from my side. Before making a decision checkout the alumni and how many years have they taken to reach this position.
All the very best!!!!
(**Disclaimer:- Many would argue with the rankings but honestly with all the personal experiences and shared experiences this is the best. I have not done my MBA from 1) either but my brother did. And one of my friend she took the PGDBA option she has moved up ladder very fast. )
Hope this will help
What would be a realistic target in NMAT to secure a call from XAHR ?

For ximb, best score among cat and xat is considered or both cutoffs have to be cleared independently?
After filling application form, my photo and signature are not showing in the form. What should I do? Should I re-register and fill another form or should I go ahead with the payment?

Greetings from XUB!
Just one look around, and you'll find that each of us is different in one way or another. But even though the multitude of differences that each one of us features, there's one thing that binds us all together – and that is humanity.
Xavier University, Bhubaneswar, has organized various events that helped students become more aware of our generation's social issues. One such event was InfluenXia, which aimed at spreading awareness about critical aspects of society within youth. Another such event was I Can Bingo, which helped the students voice their thoughts and experiences, raising awareness for sexual harassment.
A webinar was hosted by the students where stalwarts across various industries shared their experiences and thoughts about how employees' mental health has become a priority in today's world for employers. This augmented the understanding of the student about this critical concern and enriched their insights about it.
