Put your all VA doubts here 😃

one from my side

Directions: Read the paragraph and answer the question that follows.

Only the most naive scientist believes that the perfect model is the one that perfectly represents reality. Such a model would have the same drawbacks as a map as large and detailed as the city it represents, a map depicting every street, every park, every building, every tree, every pothole, every inhabitant. Were such a map possible, its specificity would defeat its purpose: to generalise and abstract.

What according to you would succeed the passage?
1. Whatever their purpose, maps, and models must simplify as much as they mimic the world.
2. However, only a map with the minutest of detail can be useful for detailed study.
3. Such maps or models, therefore, do not reflect complete reality.
4. The best maps, therefore, focus more on the abstraction of reality rather than on the accurate reproduction of human endeavour.
5. The maps are, after all, only a reflection of reality.

OA is (1)

Answer Explanation :The perfect representation of reality is not needed, nor even desirable. What is needed is simplification.

Now as VA thread has been opened ...... could any VA stalwart guide us on how to work with subjunctive mood especially the verb to be followed

@[349702:techsurge]:we have 2 cases while dealing with subjunctive mood..

1.object-present tense third person singular and verb-to be
2.object-present tense third person singular and verb-any other except "to be
case 1
subjunctive case for present tense will be "be" and for the past tense "were" irrespective of the subject
case 2
just drop s/es of the main verb and make the verb sound like the present tense
