Hi Rutty,
The features of the MGB program are fascinating. However, since this is the first batch for the MGB, I am apprehensive about the placement prospects. Understandably, there are no placement statistics for the MGB. However you have listed companies that recruit GMBA graduates. Is the placement cell the same for GMBA and the MGB students? With a relatively high fee structure, it seems to be a huge risk unless there is some preliminary data regarding the job profiles and salaries post graduation.
Hi!

We have Corporate Relations offices in India, UAE,Singapore, Sydney (Dec 2012) and Shangai, we are looking at the same list of Companies and Corporations as GMBA and few more to recruit our students. Lots of companies prefer freshers too for e.g. P&G; and HUL.

Aspirants joining MGB would start at 2 levels junior level (with work experience) and entrant/management trainees for freshers and as per our estimation their average salary should be 2 to 3 times more.

We have a sterling record of 100% placements

Financial Times U.K. ranks S P Jain in the top 100 business schools worldwide €“ 2012 *

Additionally, Financial Times ranks S P Jain in the Top 10 in several categories:

Worldwide Rank Category

1 Employed in three months

3 Value for money

9 Salary percentage increase

10 Placement success

S P Jain remains the youngest business school to be ranked by the Financial Times for the 2nd consecutive year. S P Jain is one of the only two business schools in Dubai, three in India, and four in Singapore to be on this prestigious list.

Salaries involve various factors like work exp/title /academics/professional achievements etc, also this is our first intake so i am unable to give you factual statistics .Salaries also depends on location and countries taxation policies.

To get a fair idea on the kind of companies that are recruiting our student please visit www.spjain.org/gmba for a better understanding on salary packages and list of companies.

Hi Rutty,

I got my SPJAT test result for 22nd July saying that I do not clear SP-Jain cut off limits and to improve the score , I can re-take the test scheduled on 19th August.

As of Now, If I check my application status for the GMBA program , It says ,Wait List on Initial Screening.

Could you please let me know :

1. As my Application is on the Wait List,is it because of my SPJAT result of 22nd July ?
2. If my application on the wait list, By when would I be able to know that my application is cleared from the wait list? Would it be before/after 19th August?
..

I have registered for 19th August test for getting a better score and clearing the cut-off limits this time.
My Application Number is 87558-IT.

Thanks and Regards
Rishi

Hi rutty,

How is consulting management?...i didn't get information about this. And how is it different from ITM?.....in my earlier post ..i meant to ask about consultancy but mistakenly i wrote 'CMM'...sorry for that

I am asking this question specially from Alumni and next batch joiners, I have to make up my mind for this. based on your replies.
Apart from GMAT, profile, and all the bla bla.. the very important factor for deciding a go or no go for an MBA is Course fee. Now as per my estimate it goes to like 25 Lacs.
I belong to a family with just running income with no Inhand savings, Currently I am employed and will have the savings of at-most 2 lacs. So, will have to arrange other 22-23 lacs from loan. Is it doable?.. Seniors please give some insight into this from their personal experiences..how they arranged this much amount.. or this course is only for the riches?.. Please reply, my whole decision depends on this question... and if It is doable, then what risks are involved when taking a loan of such a huge amount?
Thanks,
Saurabh
Hi Saurabh,

I am selected for the Dec 12 GMBA program. I too had this concern. But when you get an admit and go for loan with SP Jain brand they are willing to pay you any amount based on a collateral. This loan system is in place for any program you apply outside India. Very few people have such huge amount in Cash. Whenever you apply outside India to any course, you will face same challenge. Hopefully this will help.

Thanks,
Rohit

@[500217:rohitkr2507] Thankyou Rohit for the reply, I wish every thing will fall into place

Hi Rutty,
Thanks for your prompt reply... :-)

hi ms Rutty,

being a fresher what salary package one can expect from the mgb program . As a lot of money is involved approx 23 lacs , can a fresher get atleast 7 lacs.

@[603944:varn] Hey, we are talking abt 23L not 2.3L. Many mgb admits now itself have salary ranging from 5-8L. Any good course will typically have its payback in 2 yrs time. Considering the high cost of living in Spore and Dubai, we must atleast get offers worth 13-14, else it makes no sense. With 7L, what would you eat and what would you save? Rents themselves would cost you around 3L if you share with 2 others.

We must expect anything betn 60-80% of GMBA avg as in two yrs we would be GMBA's and then our pays should fairly match...Am I right Rutty??

@[456778:sajeet] yes you are right , we wont be able to survive at 7 lacs in spore and dubai.

But if we get a job in india itself then 7.2 lacs is 60% of the average salry wht GMBA's are getting in india

Hi! For an application to move up and be shortlisted for evaluations it is mandatory that it meets all our admission parameters which also includes a valid aptitude test score. Your application will be kept on a waitlist until then.

@vid8m said: Hello Rutty..
Can you please guide me something regarding the evaluation stage. I seriously dont have any idea regarding the same and been a fresher , things are even getting more worse. My evaluation is on 12 aug and for mgb program.
hi! Evaluations first start with an essay & case study round. this is followed by a Panel interview . Students shortlisted from here are sent for a final interview with the President.

Hi Rutty,

Can you pls elaborate a little more on the evaluation round scheduled for the coming saturday of 11th Aug 12.

1. Does it have both essay and case study ?

2. What are the general topics used to evaluate the essay writing ?

3. Will the case study be based on the specialization you have selected ?

4. what if we have given 2 options in specialization ?

5. Can you briefly describe the case study pattern ?

6. Will all the rounds that is Essay, Casestudy, Panel Interview and Personal Interview happen on the same day ?

7. Is there a process of elimination @ each round of Essay, Casestudy and Interviews ?

8. Is tie or suit mandatory for interviews or just formal attire is considered decent enough ?

9. Panel interview focuses on which areas ?

10. We were told during the information sessions that we would get counselling during evaluation to better decide on which sepcialization to go for, was wondering at what stage would this happen ?

Would appreciate if you could answer these questions.

Thanking you in anticipation.

hi! Cm specialisation is very different from ITM specialisation. The Consulting Management specialization covers areas like client development, advanced consulting skills and communications, decision modeling, the latest management tools and practices, project management, change management, practice development, corporate recovery and other pertinent courses. The pedagogy simulates a real consulting firm by using hundreds of case studies and providing extensive problem-solving practice.

Hi! Iam replying to your queries in the same order-

1.Yes, the first round is both essay and case study

2. There is no set list of topics, it is something that you need to think and answer on the spot.

3.yes,

4.It will be based on the first specialisation you have chosen.

6. Yes, all rounds will be done on the same day.

7. There will be an elimination after the Panel interview. Only students selected from here go for a finak interview with the president.

8. You need to be in a formal attire, suit is not mandatory.

9. Both interviews could cover anything from the kind of work you have handled, to your career plans or why you have chosen the particular specialisation.

10. It is not counselling but you will be advised on another specialisation incase the interviews feel you are better suited for that.

My name is Adit Jain and I have completed my B.Tech in June '12.
Please help me out and let me know if the following experience be counted as work ex for SPGSM:

I joined a company and have been working on a project since 2nd year of my college. I started small but with gradual progress, today I am in the top people of the company. I lead a team of over 2000 people in sales and marketing of IT products and Web package. In order to maximize sales, my work requires me to conduct seminars, conferences and training meetings. I know how to identify plannings and do the planning required for increasing sales.
Since, it is an incentive based work, I don't have salary slips but TDS certificate stating that I have earned 8 lakhs from the company during the financial year. I have proper work ex letter and letter of recomendation for the same.
I don't want this exp to go to waste as I have worked hard to do this.

Will the work ex be counted ?

I have not yet given CAT and will be appearing for CAT'12. What should be the admission procedure for applying to S P Dubai or Singapore.
And considering the work ex, should I apply for GMBA or MGB ?

Please help me out
