Hi,

I had appeared for 5th Sept exam but I still haven't received any mail regarding the result. I wanted to know, only candidates, who have qualified and called for evaluation, will be informed or the rest will also be informed of their result? If yes, then by when do we expect the same?

Akshi

Hi,

I have a few questions :

1.If we do not get a call for the Nov/Dec 2010 batch can we reapply for the April 2011 batch (maybe with improved GMAT scores) ?

2.If we get a call for the Nov/Dec 2010 but are unable to attend it or get selected then again if we are elligible to apply for the April 2011 batch ?

3.When does the admission process for April 2011 batch start ?

Thanks in advance for your replies

Hi!

There is no difference in the batch strength for the 2 intakes.
for the evaluations you need to get your original documents and one set of photocopies, which can be attested by you. on the day of the evaluation we will verify this photocopy against the originals.

Hi Smitha/Rutty,
Well, the placement statistics for Nov. 2008 batch (graduating in the year Nov. 2009) is not put up on the site. Please enlighten me. Also, there is no difference in the batch strength between the two intakes?
For evaluations, can i bring photocopies of documents/marksheets which are attested by Gazetted Officer?

Thanks

hi!

the results will be mailed to all the students very soon.

Hi,

Any specific reason for doing so?

hello madam.

i m presently doing my business admn n wish to do mba from your prestigious institue. can u pls guide me as to-

1. through which entrances are students selected?
2. when would the entrance follow for the year 2010?

rishika jain

got a 60%ile :banghead: ..... didnt make it thru the SPJAT this time :-(, would try harder next time .... hopefully will make it to the april-may 2011 intake ...

Hi Voldeharry,

same here i also got 60.78%ile. have to try next time . however i have a question to ask

dont they consider the overall application . For example i will be having close to 7 years of experience at the time of joining the course. Have numerous leadership role.
Just that i didnt scored well enough ,shouldnt be a reason to eliminate.
I mean how a aptitude exam be an identifer of what you have learnt in your work place?

anyway we are out for sure.

Hi!

We evaluate a potential candidate overall, on several factors. These are: good GMAT, CAT or internal aptitude test scores, good academic record, relevant work experience, good communication and such skills and extracurricular activities.
Our application process involves application assessment, if shortlisted you will be called for the Evaluation process which includes Essay / Case Study and a Personal Interview. You will not be short listed for evaluations until and unless you have either a valid GMAT or CAT score on your records to show us. Alternatively, you can also take our SP Jain Aptitude Test, which is a general aptitude test on the same lines as a GMAT or CAT.

If you are targeting Nov 2010, we suggest you to apply now, incase you are shortlisted you will be informed about the next aptitude test date.

hi!

Though we have a cut-off mark, we are flexible if the overall application is very strong but here again we can't come down too much. Our cut off percentile is 75 whereas you have obtained 60.78, here the difference is too much for us to consider.

Hi Rutty,

i am interested in applying for the apr 2010 batch.
However, i had appeared for gmat in aug 2009. Will the 2009 scores be valid for the apr batch??

Hi Smitha,
I had my interview today (19th September). Went till the President's interview. I wanted to know whether President's interview is an elimination round? Also, does it mean that a person who qualifies to the President's interview (final interview) is almost through?Do u see the entire profile once again (academics, extra curricular activities, CAT/GMAT/SPJAT scores, work experience etc.) for getting an admit? I suppose the entire profile is already evaluated based on which candidates are called for case study and interview. can u throw some light on this?
Thanks

hi VIVKN,
how many rounds are there for the evaluation??
Also can u share ur interview experience??
hi VIVKN,

Hi,
There are totally three rounds.
1. Case Study/Essay Writing (Case Study - 40 mins and Essay Writing -15 mins.)
2. Panel interview consisting of two interviewers.
3. Personal Interview taken by Mr. Nitish Jain (President).

Panel Interview is an elimination round. You need to do well to get qualified to the President's interview.

1st Round:
Case study is based on the specialisation that you have chosen. For eg. a marketing guy gets a marketing based case study, an IT guy gets an IT based case study etc. It basically deals with the improvements that you can do to improve business, bring down cost etc.
Essay writing has two questions which have to be answered within 15 mins.
For me the questions were.
1. Describe a failure that u have encountered, your reaction and what have u learnt?
2. Describe your integrity by describing your reaction on an ethical dilemma.

2nd Round:
Panel Interview comprised a lady and Prof. John Davis (Dean of SPJCM). Interview was really cool and both of them kept me comfortable.
1. Tell me something about yourself.
2. Describe the team work, how you work in a team.
3. Some questions on my current job.
4. Mention your extra curricular activities, your interests and hobbies.
5. If there is a problem within the team members, how do you sort out the problem?
6. Give an example of high energy levels that you possess (since i mentioned initially about me being energetic).
7. Any question that you have? ( i asked a question)
On the whole very cool and i was quite confident. But, please be careful and confident while answering in the panel interview since this is an elimination round.

Then, i was escorted to the President's room for the final interview (I was really happy that i was not eliminated in the panel interview). There were 6 candidates waiting there.

3rd Round:
Mr. Nitish Jain is a very cool person and keeps you really comfortable.
1. Tell me what your company does? What business it is into?
2. Which project are you working? Do you do detail engineering?
3. Why do you want to do an MBA?
4. Any question that you have?

That is it. Came out with a happy and confident note. Still keeping my fingers crossed till the offers are made officially. It will take 3 days for them to inform the candidates about the offer.
Thanks

hi!

we have received your mail with your unofficial GMAt score

Dear Mam

I did not mention my unofficial GMAT score in my application since i have not received the official score. Can i still report the score?
My eval call is on 19th Sep
ID:-61050CM

Hi!

A student is shortlisted for evaluations based on his application. so thats the stage where we look at your aptitude scores, academics etc.
The first elimination happens after the panel interview.
Your interview with the Dean is the final round. Elimination happens even in this round. You will be intimated of the outcome by this weekend.
