Are the calls for evaluation for this round out? I had applied two weeks back to the IBWM program but my application status is unchanged. I would humbly like to inquire if my application has been rejected or if there are other eval rounds that I should wait for. I have also emailed [email protected]. Details:

FYI the evals are scheduled for the 17/18 of Jan 09 in Mumbai and on 10th if u wish to be evaluated using video conferencing facilities in Blore and Delhi

Hi Shwetha,

My application status in the page http://www.spjain.org/admissions_application_status.asp still shows that it is under consideration and the status would be updated shorty while most of the other aspirants seem to have recieved mails for evaluation.

Also few days back I got a mail from sejal shah as below:

"Dear XXXX
Application No.: 29214 IT
We thank you for your interest in our GMBA (April 2009 intake) program. We have scrutinized your application and wish to inform you that you are falling short on one of our admission criteria which requires a student to have a score you have no score or less score, as per our records.
The final decision to shortlist a student for the second stage of the admissions process the Evaluation stage, is dependant on a student having a test score meeting S P Jains cut off limits. S P Jain is conducting an aptitude test on Sunday, 11th January, 2009 should you like to take the same. For further details on the aptitude test, please visit the link S.P.Jain Center of Management - Dubai . Singapore
If you have any other score i.e CAT or GMAT and have not updated us about the same, kindly do so by sending an email to [email protected] with the subject line marked as SCORE UPDATE
Once we have your aptitude test score we will collate the data with your application and if you are found eligible we would shortlist you for the Evaluation stage and a Call Letter for the same would be sent to you via email.

I sent the score later, (my gmat score is 690) and got confirmation that the score does clear the cut off set by S P Jain.

Could you please clear the confusion and let me know, if my chances of getting a call from S P Jain are still open?

Hi,

It takes 30-45 days for your status to be updated. Pls keep checking your status at regular intervals. We are still sending out call letters for the evals on the 17/18 of Jan 09.

Hi Shweta,

I have an exp of over 5 years in Technology business. I have a GMAT score of 680 and planning to apply for GMBA program.
I have also been exploring the option of taking a sabbatical from my organisation.
But I have heard that SPJAIN GMBA program does not allow people with sabbatical the placement services. I was exploring this option of sabbatical as a backup because of the prevailing uncertainty in the market.
I am really surprised why this option goes against a candidate. Can you please clarify my doubts regarding this as this involves a huge amount of around 17-18 lakhs.
I would definetely like to explore better opportunities provided by the placement cell in SPJAIN. Had I been satisfied with the existing setup, I wouldn't have thought of pursuing an MBA.

Hi Shweta,
As per the placement details mentioned December 2007-08 graduating batch, it says
"Our Retail Management stream students have been fully placed followed by 85% of the Information Technology stream and 80% of the Global Human Resources Management Stream."

but there is no details mentioned for other streams like GLSCM etc.
can you please update with the placement data of other streams as well

Hi Shweta,
I have taken SP Jain aptitude test last year for dec '08 intake and got 98.7 percentile.Unfortunately i wasn't able to convert the call.
Can you let me know if that score will be valid for an application for april 09 session.Or will i need to give my CAt score/take SP JAT again.

Yes you can be on Sabbatical and complete your education and sit for placements if you apply under the "Placements" category.
