Hi Shweta,
I completed by B.E. from Mumbai University in 2005 and working with Infosys ever since,
I wish to apply for the Apr'09 batch for the IB stream,
My profile is
X - 85.2
XII - 91
B.E. - 71 (First Class in every year)

I have following queries for you -
i) Whether CAT'06 score (Result declared in Jan'07) be applicable for Apr'09 batch
ii) I have been working for last 20 months in Europe at my client location, Does Onsite exp give me some advantage?
iii) If shortlisted after the initial screening has one to attend the Interviews compulsarily in Mumbai or do you have any option of Interviews over call.
iii) As mentioned by me above i wish to apply for IB stream will my IT exp be considered at the time of placements as it would be a career shift, does SPJ encourage these shifts?
iv) Also given the present market situation what are the placement predictions for the present and coming batches?

I have completed my graduation in BBA last year and meanwhile done 3 projects on HLL,LIC mutual fund and Jet Airways.At present,I am pursuing CFP and also got 2 NSE certificates on derivative as well as mutual fund.I have also got 14 months experience in an audit firm as of now....so kindly tell me the chance of my conversion at SPJAIN....

Shall i apply for April 09 batch or do i need to update my profile more and apply for next batch?

could you kindly tell me when the first evaluation will take place???

Hi,

1) I cannot comment on whether CAT 06 scores will be accepted for April 09. Pls wait until early next week as this information will be updated on our website by then.
2)Yes we will definitely consider work experience at a client location
3) You may go ahead and apply for IB with an IT background - we have had students in the past who have switched but you must have valid reasons for doing do
4) We do not foresee any difficulty in placing our students inspite of the current situation

Hi,

Well I cannot comment on your chances as that would be the decision of the Admissions Committee. You may apply if you wish.

We have not yet fixed the dates for the first round of evaluations for the April 09 batch

Thanks for patiently answering all our queries in the past.

With the current market situation, we have heard of the lower than expected placements of many b-schools, not just SP Jain.
Hence, the fate of graduating MBA students this year and in 2009 looks bleak......

The placements have started for the batch graduating this dec 2008. Can you pls share the placement figures of the same?

We tried getting the figures from other sources, but i feel getting them from an official source is more reliable. this will help the students aiming to apply for the april 2009 batch.

Since the April 09 admissions are open I tried to create a new form/application for the same but when I click on "Click Here to Apply" and give the User Id and Password which is same as the one that I had used for Dec 08 intake, it opens up my supmitted application form of Dec 08. Cant I use the same user id and password?

My Dec 08 application number was 25601-IT if that is of any help.

So is there any main and significant difference between taking a MBA course here at India (exp in top A++ grades bschools)and there at SPJain Dubai or Singapore. While filling the online Application form for SPJCM, for April-09 intake.

In the columns of Professional Achievement & Co curricular Achivements, the word limit specified is 250 words max., but it shows that we have crosses the word limit after 250 characters.

Plz. make sure that the error is rectified because 250 characters are too less to clearly define the said roles & achievements.

i am asking this question because it might clash with other MBA entrance exams for the people who are writing all the exams.........

I have done my engineering from NSIT(Delhi University) and have worked in an MNC for 10 months then I have joined my family business in addition I have also started my own software consultancy firm for SMEs but now I have realized to go for an MBA since my startup is still in a very nubile stage and I am lacking certain skills to take it forward along with my family business. I am particularly not interested in placements but the value addition in my myself.Do you think my candidature right for this particular program ? I am planning to for SPJAT for april intake. Can you tell me the dates for it and do this exam be held in Delhi ?

Hi,

THe advantages of a one yr prog are:
The one year format is very common in Europe and is very quickly being accepted all over the world. Working executives would rather be away from work just for a year instead of 2 years. Also the one-year program enables students to start working a year earlier.

Also studying in Dubai-Singapore will give you the advantage of international exposure which is not possible by studying in India.

While we do prefer students with work ex we are willing to consider freshers who are outstanding.
