I have a query about MBA (Communication Management). I have done PGDiploma in Advertisement and PR. I am interested in doing MBA (Communication Management). I want to know how this course can help me. I saw the content of the course and actually liked me but will it help me because I already hold PGD? I have over 3 years of experience in Public Relations, Marketing Strategy and Communication. But the only issue is that I have less than 50% in graduation and 55% marks in PG Diploma.

The course is a value addition indeed but there are eligibility constraints in your case.If you are a general category candidate, you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria for SNAP test that is a pre-requisite for applying to SIMC.You need to have a minimum of 50% in your Graduation to appear for SNAP test.
The selection criteria for this years SNAP is different for MBA and MMC (Masters in Mass Communication). The general SNAP is will be considered for MBA while for MMC, the selection criteria will depend upon the below mentioned tests.
1) SIMC MMC test
2) General SNAP
There are no Sectional Cuts offs.

i did my major in commerce with marketing specialization where i have been able to learn about advt but as far as media and PR is concerned i dont have much knowledge.
If i choose advertising as my first preference,is it like this i may miss out on cut off or all three domains having the same cut off.

You don't have to choose your specialization while applying for SIMC. Specialization selection is done in 3rd semester, not at the time of application.
And therefore there are no separate cutoffs for MBA- Advertising, PR & Media Management.

Yes. For final selection the weightage is
SNAP score- 50%
GE - 25%
PI - 25%
i have a query related to selection....i am waiting for my kt results for my graduation and results are expected till next april/may....do i stand any chance of selection if i clear the written paper....i have appeared for the exam but still waitin for the resuts?? please help me out...thnx
Yes. You can still appear for the SNAP and GD/PI (if you clear SNAP) without your final year results. But the admission will be provisional (if you clear GD/PI) and subject to furnishing proof of graduation with 50% by beginning of the second semester.

While a lot a students from the accounting background join the media industry, we believe your skill set can be used in many ways. Given that you are adept in numbers you may find an easy fit in market research or media planning.
